Hobgoblin Suprise

Hey everyone...

I'm looking to do a quest that requires a Hobgoblin Suprise, and I notice the trivial is set at >250...

I'm wondering two things...

1: I've read on other boards.. (sorry i know.. triator LOL) that it's trivial at 235... true? or no?

2: What is the drop rate on the Hobgoblin meat? Farmable? I know they can't be rooted or snared.. but slowed?

The hobgoblin surprise is indeed a 250+ triv. Or at least it was the last time I made it.

As for it being farmable....

The drop rate isn't spectacular, about 1 in 6 or so I would say, maybe less. The good news though is that the hobgoblins can be slowed and are darn good xp if you aren't ready or able to do PoV or other higher tier zones yet.

Keep in mind, Hob's hit for up to 355 (on my warrior), and before they are slowed, they hit a LOT. And they have a ton of HP. Even full groups of mid 50's can have trouble with them.

As far as drop rate, I'd agree probably 1 in 5 or 6 kills. Not exceptional by any stretch.

They can be slowed. They have huge aggro range. We went thru about 50 saturday and got like 8-10 meats

While it's been a long time since i was in PoN.. purely cause of the boredome of the place... a key thing to Hobs is, they can be mezzed.. with Gok no less (no resists on the ones i hit at 59). The few we had into camp were no problem on cc, which means if you can get singles, they could be raptured (garunteed mez) then slowed while under, a package for the melee (not unlike christmas, but different.. you know what i mean).

As of Sept 11/03, the Hobgoblin Surprise were still a 250+ combine.

The ones that are just called "a hobgoblin" can be mezzed with GoK.
The ones that are called something else (eg "a scourge hobgoblin") can't be mezzed with GoK.

They hit hard.
