mammoth meat drops?
after killing mammoths all weekend and getting almost 3 yellow and about 300pp from tusks i got 5 mammoth meat. has the dorp rate been nerfed or something? lost track of mammoth kills but asumming 50 that a 1 in 10 drop rate. is that normal?

If you are getting money from tusks, sounds like you are hunting mammoths in Everfrost.
The mammoth meat drop rate is better from the wooly and tundra mammoths in Eastern Wastes , but the levels are much higher , and the tusks in EW are worth NOTHING. -
k i am at a level i am starting to loot for biger mammoths. i can bazaar the meat. have 60 wolf and 60 mammoths fillets now. will have to try ew. the tusks can suck a lot if the meat drops enough more. i also only have 48 str with my 2 -8 str rings so now carrying 100 pounds of tusk i can live with for the same money.

I agree; the mammoths in Eastern Wastes have a much better drop rate for meat. I leveled my ranger there through his forties and ended up with several stacks of meat in the bank. If you’ve never been to EW, you should be made aware that the area is teaming with animals and monsters that would enjoy nothing more than ripping you limb from limb and watch you flop around on the ground as you slowly bleed to death. Well, you get the idea. That being the case, it’s extremely difficult to fight in the middle of the zone without getting adds. I would suggest you make you camp at the edge of the zone and pull the mammoths there to fight them. This worked very well for my ranger. He never once got an add. One of my favorite spots was at the edge of the land across from #11 on the EQAtlas map: http://www.eqatlas.com/velious/easternwastesmap.html.
