  • So what sells well and what doesn't?

In pursuit of improving one's alchemy, it would be nice to make potions that would sell. It's also good business to be making sellers and not losers.
So, what sells well in the bazaar? I know that there are always players shouting for cure disease in PC but I never see Kithar's Disease Treatment for sale in the bazaar.

Kithar's will sell if priced low enough. I sold a ten shot and a one shot this week from the ones I made skilling up. My price was 85pp for a ten so it's not really a great profit maker considering the time it takes to sell them.

With the disease capital of Norrath (Paludal Caverns)right next door to the bazaar I would think they would be a little more popular but I guess they are just too expensive to be of use.

Ant potions still sell pretty well and SoW potions always have a market (even as ruined as it is by undercutters). Unlife Awareness also move slowly. The damage shields sell slowly but they do sell some. That's about as far as I can say since my skill is still pretty low.

I don't think I could sell an Aquatic Haunting potion to a drowning man

You sold disease treatment? I was selling a 5-dose at 40pp and couldn't ditch it to save my life. I even wandered over to the Oasis (thinking, hey, folks are always looking for disease cures there)...no luck.

Anti-weights I can sell for about 310-320 a 10-dose. Decent demand for those, not too many others selling.

As a customer, disease treatment is the one I have trouble finding. I use it to unslow myself, and can easily go through a whole 10 dose fighting something like Zlexak. Fortunately, I don't need it very often and can wait for one to show up in the bazaar.

I am actually genuinely surprised Titan potions have risen in demand with all the group shrinks. I pretty much figured that non illusion classes who nedded to maintain full size would want these when groups were shrunk.

Possibly because group shrinks are selling horribly? I have a friend who bought some from me and uses them but the rest have been on my bazaar mule for ages without moving. The illusion potions sell (or at least sold) pretty well. But on my server at least tehre's someone selling them for basically cost now, so the market is kinda dead. Back when SoL came out I sold growth pretty well to short races, especially gnomes, but not sure if they're selling anymore. Gate potions and TP potions from what I heard sell but move slowely as well. I sell the occational resist potion still. (left over from about 2 years ago rl when I was skilling up on them) If you really want to sell resist potions however try heading to naggy/vox raids and selling there, you might have more luck.

About the only thing I can sell reliably are gate potions and illusion potions. I think everyone is completely ignorant about the new focus potions. Fortunately the shamans on my server are a little smarter and aren't undercutting one another (yet, or much). Most seem to adopt the prevailing price.

Don't forget the old gate potions, they're cheaper to make than the new ones and some customers don't mind walking a few steps to PoK.

I have a disease treatment rotting on my mule, has been for a few months now.

*Sow sells like wild fire, but profit is minimal
*Like they said above, IVU and Ant's do well. I've sold levitate and EB decently.....
*DS's kinda comes and goes, sometimes it gets sold almost before I hit "trade", and others it sits there collecting dust.
*Haven't gotten to gate potions yet, but I assume there's still a decent market for them, there are certainly still places to need to gate out of.
*The stuff using giants toes doens't sell really well, I had to take losses to move them, people don't know what they do or just really don't understand how much they actually cost to produce in the first place.
*Stat potions are slow, again because the large amout of people don't know what they do, think they are too expensive, or just don't take the time to find out what they would like in a potion. They know the basics, everything else is Greek to them.
*resist potions will sell slowly but surely.

In essence, everything that sells well won't be much of a profit, because that's what everyone else is selling. And the rest doesn't sell quickly because of widespread lack of understanding of alchemy....and that reward vs. expenditure is not balanced very well IMO......

Seriously who wants to pay 8p for a sow, who even wants to pay 5? Well actually enough do, but I bet if stat potions weren't so expensive to make and we could sell them cheaper, they would market.

The illusion, SoW and damage shield potions have been selling well for me. I just can't get rid of my gate potions.

                      Gate Potions and the Mystical

Gate Potions and the Mystical Infusion and Mystical Aptitude potions are all selling very well for me, also if you are willing to find the ingredients for the more rare illusion potions (ie; Half Elf, High Elf, Barbarian, Vah Shir and Iksar) you will find buyers. These can help greatly with people doing quests in foriegn lands.

Most of these are trivial starting at 160 and up. If you are looking for ones that sell well in the lower trivial range SoW, Lev, Shrink are the ones I commonly am asked to make. Also it never hurts to give out some free samples, you may wind up with a repeat customer.
