Vah Shir Meat

Is it that hard to find? Its not on AllaKhazam or Lucy only place ive heard of it is here.... Anyone got info on it? Is there more than just one mob that it drops off of and does it even drop at all/is it rare?

As per the racial meats drop page, it drops off Firefall Saureks in Shadeweaver's Thicket. This is the only known mob source for this meat, and it drops off only that one type of saurek. Chunks of meat are more common than the vah shir meat, but it does drop. (I've got one meat so far, but haven't had much time to do much farming lately.)

Me and a friend spent some time farming the Firefall Saureks for meat, two of us took 5 hours to collect 10 meats. It's a uncommon drop from an uncommon mob. I believe that you could do as well or better solo since we seldom had two up at the same time.

Sense animals or tracking will be a huge help. The saureks are the only animals in the zone and if you get something other than a Firefall with sense animals it means that there are none up at the moment since they are the only Saureks that spawn on the far side of the mountains.

P.S. I have had these up for sale in the bazaar on and off for a week and haven't sold them even though I'm down to 10pp each. I believe that would be a fair price due to the difficult of farming them but I guess I was wrong. Either that or no one wants to look like a cute, cuddly kitty.

Thats a heckuva deal.

I have been looking at trading parts for potions now, and Shamans seem to be placing the value of the meat very very low. 3-4 plat, which means they want a stack or so to offset the high cost of wormwood.

Of course, that is mostly for the common meat. DE, Troll, Ogre, and such. Iksar and Vah-Shir are hella-rare. I have 5 Iksar meat from Dulak. I think I will go hunt Firerfall Saureks.

Heh made a typo its 3 stacks that I need,so far I have 2 meat but ive only hunted there for a little bit. Hope your not on Firiona heh youll have competition

Since the revamp of Shadeweavers last patch, I've noticed the firefall saureks have become MUCH more common in the NW part of the zone. Especially by the newly added undead camp a little north of the Loda Kai camp. They're so common now I've found mytslef fighting 3 at once on many ocassions, hehe. (Quite agressive even when green, and somewkat long agro range).

Hopefully this shoul speed up collection of vah shir meat if you're of the mind to do so.

On rare ocassions, you can even see firefall saureks on the eastern half of the zone, to keep newbies on their toes.

I also believe the skeles are placeholders for the Firefall Saureks, they dont seem to repop if I leave the skeles alone and kill beetles. They also seem to have the same spawn rate as the Saureks, so best guess at a placeholder that I can make.

In an attempt to make a 10 dose Vah Shir potion, i hunted the west side for a good while. Im pretty sure the charred skeletons are on the same spawn table, and its possible that the beetles are too, but i didnt go after them as specificaly as i did the skeletons.

My advice to spawn firefall saureks: if it wanders, kill it.
