  • Alchemy 231+ drops

I was wondering in which sequence my alchemist should use those muled drops. I looked around but found no easily readable list of what drop can be used at a specific skill level. I made this page for myself but perhaps it's useful to someone else as well. The resulting PDF:
    • Shows the trivial range of stuff that can be made using a drop as a blue rectangle
    • Shows the trivial progression of a recipe likely used with a specific drop as a line.

Some added explanation: Where the trivial spans a range I assume to use the highest trivial recipe - unless you can make skinspike pots with it. In that case I used the trivial value of the skinspike.

I'm sure it's not perfect and I'm happy to change it where someone spots a mistake.

One omission: Highland Sludge is way too precious to be used in Alchamy so it's not on the list.

Well my shaman hit 234 last night.

I have fully given up on farming Red Cups ( tried foraging and then killing mobs that supposedly carry them and I got 1 in 8 hours - that is just too much waste of time).

I have tried farming Exeptional Shissar Blood got about 25 in 3-4 hours one night and 4 the next night in the same time frame.

I then spend 2- 1/2 hour in Sirens Grotto and got 60 Deepwater Ink and 2 K in gems and some nice pages for research. All and any mob can drop them. She only got 2 skill-ups making Haste pots that are 302 trivial. Gonna be a long long way to 300.......

What makes a man a man? A friend of mine once wondered. Is it his origins? The way he comes to life? I don't think so. It's the choices he makes. Not how he starts things, but how he decides to end them.John Myer~Hellboy 2004

Try foraging Nodding Blue Lillies in the Dreadlands. They are far more common then trying to forage Redcups anywhere.

Aye thank you! I spend a couple of hours in the back of the Mines - got about 2 stacks. Would try to get the stuff from GE, but as it is a hotspot it's hard to farm cause people who go there for exp don't really care about your shamans alchemy lol

Question though.. do they drop more in the Temple then the Mines?

Not sure what your level is, but what I am doing is mass slaughter in Sirens Grotto near the WW zoneline for deepwater ink. It takes a little less than hour to get enough for for a skillup run (if I am not slacking).

My experience is that the drop rate seems about the same, however I can clear out a lot more in the same amount of time (thus being able to loot more) in Nurga. The zone is almost always empty anyway these days (on Tunare), so I round up 20+ at a time for mass killing. Typically I bring a 47+ guildie to smooch EXP.

When I hit 230+, startet farming Nodding blue lily's in Seb, however it took too long. . .. Drops/time wise. (boxed a Shm / Mage. . .and chain pulled 4-6 mobs)

What I did/do instead is to go to Kedge Keep, and farm Deepwater inks,
they drop often and 2 at a time, further more there are tons of mobs for it.

you can swin to the Mermaid area and farm all. .. there are around 15 pretty close together, and if your DPS is higher then the mobs respawn time, then you can go and kill the seahorses too, that gives you an extra, 10 (or around that number).

I startet with using my shm (lvl 65) and found that the Mermaids where enough for my DPS. I replaced him with a 66 Mage and I can clear both Seahorses and Mermaids and get back, to the spawn starting again.

                    you can create :

                    Distillate Of xx IX

its a very fast way to farm regents for Alchemy, and hope it can help a little

ohh forgot to say that its trivial at 302

Foraging in DL is definitely the way to go. I was able to click my button while doing homework and online tests n such, and over a weeks time I was able to get about 600 Nodding Blue Lilly. I have the AA for getting double forages, but I was pretty satisfied with the result considering the farming time to get just a few from other places.
