Skillups and Potion demand
You might try using Deepwater Inks as well since those potions go trivial at 302. If you are at 266 (246+8%) then the combines should be yellow to you so you will still have a fair chance at success. Other than the success rate the only thing that matters about the combines being within 100 points is that your trophy will not gain experience on them...but since your trophy has evolved to lvl5 before you reach a 250 raw skill it will not get exp on any combines until you catch up with it, and by that time the X potions will be in that rangeOriginally posted by Darkleafz ShadowDancer View PostQuestion though, cause i have been thinking about the NBL's alot. Is it a smart idea to work on combines when the trivial is over 100 skill points away? Im at 246 alchemy now, and the triv for the NBL combines are 348. So is it a smart idea for me to do those combines? My wis is maxed at 255 right now so i have the best chance for my lvl i suppose. Plus i have my expert alchemist trophy with +8% to my alchemy.
.
Only downside is that I practically have to give the IX potion to get rid of them cause I guess noone lvl60-64 buys clarity/HoT/Haste potions on Saryrn server.../boggle.
Also I have the same problem Quichon has been having......market is flooded with all non-farmed potions so the price is right around cost. I have just been making tonics and a few other potions here and there that not many others make like Faerune, Lev, IVU. I made a whole stack of the Philter of Concealment and still have 16 of them on my trader still cause noone wants to pay what it cost me to make them. Now I don't even bother making any high end potions unless someone asks for them. That way I can actually make some plat off the drop items I do have.
Ever since TSS came out Powder of Ro has been hard to come by and very expensive in bazaar cause very few people hunt PoR zones anymore unless they are after something very specific.

Clarity X
I have found the secret...
go to Icefall/Valdeholm, Direwind/Ashengate and sell KEI pots.
I can rip through 5 bags in an hour in those zones sellin em at 3-400pp a stack.
In direwind, you can get upwards of 500-700pp a stack at times.
convert that to 5 bags worth - thats a fast 7k :P
Not huge, but not bad.

I have also sold quite a few of the various affinity style spells (takes 2 powders of ro though, so quite pricey). But, I don't think a lot of players that have the cash to spend and would use them really know about them. I will have a variety on my trader for a week or so, and then one night a single buyer will pilfer them all.

...but I am PL-ing a chanter to get ready for a JC push. One style I have been really successful with requires mobs that don't flee when low on health. I was using Unrest, but it's below my range now. Can anyone think of zones that match those parameters and good for say level 25 - 40 ish range?Posatrocible Disasterocity

25-35ish... you just can't beat OT for sheer PLing-ness. Huge zone so not much mob competition, I think it's still a hot spot so it's got insane xp mod, and you can get crowds of mobs going quickly. However, mobs do flee at low health here. About the only mobs that don't are undead.Originally posted by Posatrocible View PostI know we are losing the thread-topic a bit...

Let's see... you're a bit too high for Kurns Tower to do any good, but it's nice for geting up to 15ish.
City of Myst is indeed good for getting up over 40, but I think a bit too powerful to bring a level 25 toon into.
Have you considered Najena? IIRC, it was pretty good level 25ish to PL in. It's got plenty of undead mobs which won't run away.

CoM! Right... sorta forgot about that one -- I might be safe to try there.. but like you said Quichon, 25 might be a bit dodgy. I will try Najena for a bit... and now that Unrest is a hotzone, I might try just a little more there (up to 30???).
Thanks again for your advice all!

I haven't been selling potions for very long, but I've noticed that Povar (being an old server) has a glut of all TS items. The pots I sell out of most consistenly are Philter of the Wolf V (11pp-13pp each) and Distillate of Skinspikes VI (10pp-13pp each). However, there is a very small profit margin on each, 5-6pp each max.
IX potions (healing, alacrity, clarity) are always glutting the market. I haven't sold very many of them even priced as low as 8pp each

Deepwater ink is such a pain in the rear to farm though. So 8 pp is a bit rediculous. I go to Kedge Keep to farm. I've only been there on my currently 59 shammy, so killing was easy. But the fact that it was an underwater zone is the major pain in the butt. Thank god i have my Fishbone earring, but i hate taking off the earrings i do have. I have earring of oppression and Earring of Holy Furvor as my ear slots so the fishbone makes me lose quite a bit especially since both of my earrings are aug'd out from DoN aug's. See on my server i get 17pp each for alacrity IX pot's and have faithful customers that buy large orders. So when my inventory is eventually COMPLETELY filled i just sell them off. Cheapest in bazaar is 20 pp each. Rangers seem to love it. Its like there crack, as KEI and Bst crack is to us casters.Amun Rhah - 63 Oracle - Maelin Starypyre - 277 unmodded alchemy, nothing else matters (yet!)
