  • Distillate of Comprehension Line Quetion

First I would like to state that I have never played a Shaman till I started one on The Sleeper progression server. I searched the forums and also looked at the spell information list. The spell effect description regardless of if it is i or V, ect states "Increases the ability of the user to store mana".

    - How much mana do the different levels of Distillate of comprehension add?
    - Does the amount of mana that, lets say Distillate of Comprehension V
adds vary by the character level that uses it?
    - I have tested and verified that Distillate of Comprehension V and clarity iV
stack, is this true of all the levels of these 2 Distillates?
    - What player spells will overwrite Distillate of Comprehension and to be more
complicated, if I have Distillate of Comprehension V and Distillate of Clarity 5
as a buff, will player cast C2 overwrite Distillate of Clarity 5 and will player
cast spell C2 stack with the Distillate of Comprehension line.

I am having a ball doing alchemy and wish to clarify this issue to players who are buying this from me, so I do not inadvertantly mislead them.

Thanks in advance for all usefull responses.

#1 Got me without looking it up
#2 It is a set amount set by the potion itself. it ignores player level
#3 as long as the clarity spell does not increase your mana pool as well as you mana regen it will stack with any level of the comprehention potion. It is only mana pool increasesr that will not stack with it.
#4 got me without looking it up I am fairly certain they are out there.

Not that it matters on the progression server yet, but when kei comes out it will override those potions... kei is mana regen + mana pool... Not sure what other chanter spells are like that. I think Kei might be the first to do it, but I'm pretty sure that the ones after kei also increase mana pool. Anyone know about the other clarity line spells?

Thanks for the information and that confirms my testing so far.

Comprehension Iii increases mana pool by 75 - Duration 25 minutes
Comprehension Iv increases mana pool by 100 - Duration 30 minutes
Comprehension V increases mana pool by 125 - Duration 35 minutes
Comprehension Vi increases mana pool by 150 - Duration 40 minutes

I am assuming the Distillate of Regeneration line works the same as these do, providing a fixed amount of regen per tic regardless of the level of the player using it. To be more clear, Regen 4 would give a fixed amount of hp regen per tic and Regen 5 would give a fixed amount of hp regen per tic (a little more than 4), regardless of the level of the player using the potion.

Can I assume, as a basic rule, that potions give a fixed benefit/effect, and duration, that is dependant on the potion level and not the level of the player using them?

As I level up and make more of the comprehension line I will post the amount they increase the mana pool here if that would be desired.

        Have a good day!

Note: Edited to add the benefit and duration on the Comprehension line so far.

          yes.

As a basic rule Alchemy created potions work at a set level set on the potion and ignore the player's level.

I cannot think of a current alchemy created potion where this is not true (note the *think*... I did not actually go look this up, so that statement is based on my memory not hard database facts)

            That sounds right Ngreth.

Since the new potions have numbers associated with them (i.e. Philter of the Wolf V), this is what determines the strength of the potion instead of in the old alchemy where the potion was dependent on level of the character using it.

The only ones I can think of at the moment without numbers are things like shrink and invis, but those don't have strengths, just one size fits all.

                lol

Distillate of comprehension effect from a reward in Blackfeather Roost overwrites KEI. What a PITA as it has no mana regen. I had to go back to PoK and get a fresh KEI after clicking off the comprehension effect.
