Philter of Vampiric Spirit

What's up with the potion "philter of vampiric spirit"?
1: Decrease Hitpoints by 180
2: Increase Mana by 60

For some reason I thought it used to be a hp to mana over time, where it would hurt you several times and keep getting mana back each time. However, I found on alla that it's only a one shot thing. http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=8914

Seems like way too little mana for the price of the potion since it now requires exceptional shissar blood to be made. I haven't tried farming them, but they are scarse in the bazaar on my server. The griffon feathers weren't that hard to come by with the original recipe.

I'm 99% sure that the effect is the same as was on the Potion of Vampiric Spirit. In fact, according to Lucy it is exactly the same effect: HpToMana.

I have tried and it appeared to have no reuse timer so stock up on the vampiric pot and chain canni yourself. I didn't bother to test this though because 60 mana isn't much in the long run and I'm not going to carry 100's of pot just to build up 8k mana in a hurry.

Ok, so my next question is:
Where's the best place to get exceptional shissar blood from?

Since people aren't really selling it in the baz, I'm gonna have to farm that ingredient. =P

Ssra temple. Pretty much the only zone to farm regular and exceptional type of shissar blood. You need shissar priest and templar for the exceptional and may have better luck on second floor than first floor.

PS they do sell in bazaar but they usually sell out fast since there's not a whole lot of easy skillup path from 240's to 300 range.

Wow, I would never use them to skill up... they are going for around 100-200pp (some people are even trying to sell them for 2k... haha). I usually only buy the bloods if they are under or around 100pp. Nodding blue lilys and deepwater ink both go for under 50pp on a good day.

Definitely 2nd floor for exceptional blood. On the first floor I only ever saw it off blue con to 70 priests. On the second floor I have seen it drop from wizzies, shaman, and temple guards as well as priests.
