  • Gate potion cost vs QoK

It has recently come to my attention that gate potions are a whole lot cheaper to make now. (with the changes this spring). Doesn't it seem reasonable that the cost of the components to make Quintessence of Knowledge should also get a price reduction? QoK's used to cost less than 1/2 of gate potions and now their cost is unchanged so its a little more than 2/3 the cost of gate potions.

Gate potions technically cost less to make, but you can't make 10 dose potions, use 9 doses, and sell the 10 dose potion with one charge. If you do that, gate potions are a little more expensive now.

true... but I always forget and use the last charge so gate potions are more expensive. And, they never intended for a 10dose potion for one charge left to sell for the same as a fully charged one, which has got to be one of the (many) things that was behind the change.

Either way, I don't think they should change the cost of QoK.

It is something we plan to review but currently are leaving it be.

the current though is that the gates to "familiar" place are "inexpensive" (the shaman home gates) while the more "flexible ones" (gate) are more expensive.

QoK is a "specific" one since it only gets you to PoK.
