Is there a medium area to go with when going past 210?

Was going to start farming Blue Lily's for the X potions, but since they are gonna be 138 points higher then my current skill, my trophy wont level up, will it?

that and that seems like it would be a HUGE amount of failures...

thinking of stuff i can solo to farm components with a lvl 51 shaman, and a 62 war or 67 nec to do most of the killing.

from what i've seen, the trophy will level so long as you're successful with your combines. once i was able to make the X pots, i kept making them until i maxed everything out.

You have to be within 100 points of the trivial for the trophy to evolve (at least mine didnt till I was). So if you go the Nodding Blue Lillies route it will not start to evolve till you hit 248. I started doing NBLs at about your lvl and didnt really worry about the trophy. It all worked out in the end because the trophy caught up and passed me somewhere in the mix. It gets to the point where you start getting a skill up every 40 combines or so once you get past about the 260-270 range.

As far as other things that you can look for in your range, I would suggest either Robust Shade Essence or Hearty Goblin Blood. Shade drops off of the robes in Griegs End, Goblin Blood drops off of Goblins (imagine that.... ) in Droga/Nurga. I went with them because I hate Siren's Grotto with a passion, but in the end I just found it a whole lot easier to farm the NBLs and just tough it out. Saved alot of time if I could just pick one place to do all of my farming.

400 combines later...

K. Got myself 400 NBL's and went to town. Went from 210 to 225, sitting at 236 with my trophy. 400 attemps got me 15 skillups. also left me with ~300 potions. so it seems like i had ~60 sucessful combines.

Got my buyer on again, this time gonna see if i can pick up some red cups. the 255 trivial on the next potion down seems a little better to aim for, but i can shoot for both of em. got another 80 NBL's last night from people. buying them for 30pp/ea.

You can make Basic Suspension of Slime 7 to go from 210-228. Everything is store bought, though the vials have to be made. I used my main to make the vials, and had a success rate of 126/127 But even without that rate, they are fairly cheap to make.

If you REALLY want to avoid farming, you can make a different vial and then do formed suspension of slime 7, which trivs at 231.

I did the basics from 209-228 (took 357 combines with 255 WIS), then went to lily combines. 786 combines of those so far, for 26 skillups.

Big Update

Okay, long night tonight.

made 800 attempts at the X potions tonight.

160 attempts with Divine Healing X at a skill of 224 netted me 37 successful combines, leaving me with a skill of 233. 9 skillups.

160 attempts with Clarity X at a skill of 233 gave me 70 successful combines, leaving me with a skill of 239. 6 skillups.

80 attempts at Alacrity X at a skill of 239 gave me 32 successful combines, leaving me with a skill of 245. 6 skillups.

200 attempts with Clarity X at a skill of 245 gave me 99 successful combines, leaving me with a skill of 254, 9 skillups.

200 attempts at the HP Buff X potion, Health something, with a skill of 254 gave me 123 successful combines, leaving me with a skill of 257. 3 skillups.

800 total combines, 361 successful combines, 32 skillups.

Made myself 1805 potions. lol. gave 360 of em to a guildie that needed em, will prolly shove the rest of them in the guild bank.

included the data for those of you that like to put together statistics for combine histories. this was all with 255 WIS.

started with a lvl 4 trophy, 0% through, once my modded skill hit 248, my trophy jumped to 16%. then it didnt move till my actual skill hit 248. then i hit the next skill tier, Expert and the thing rose like crazy to catch up to me, 2-3% per combine. then once it leveled off, it rose steadily. leaving me with 18% through lvl 5.

I still have another 600 or so NBL's on my trader, so I will pick it up in the morning before work.

My latest update...

Correction to first part, that was 786 combines for >22< skillups, not 26.

Last night, did another 340 combines for 10 skillups (to 260). Eight of those came in the last 135 combines, so it definitely didn't start off well

So grand total so far is 1126 combines for 32 skillups. This is all with 255 WIS, and Distillate of Celestial Healing X combines.
