  • Evolving Trophy?

Ok so I have a 258 regular skill, expert trophy (8 percent mod), so new skill is 278. My trophy was at 0 percent this morning.

I just did 60 attempts at Healing Potion X (trivial at 348 iirc)

    60 attempts
    40 successes

    4% evolved trophy

now I had heard that it was gonna take 1000 combines, so if I do 60 attempts / 1000, I get 6 percent, not 4. Do you only get evolved exp if its a success? Thats what appears to be happening since 40/1000 = 4 percent. When I was at 39 success combines I looked at trophy and it was at 3, then the next successful combine put me at 4.

Is this working as intended? Only getting exp on successful combines? =/

    Thanks

if you fail to kill a mob, do you gain experience? no. why would one get experience if they fail the combine? its the same concept. you only gain experience when you are successful.

Its kind of not the same comparison. It would be like if I killed a mob, I would have to random and if I got above a certain number I would get exp for the mob. When I kill a mob its dead, I get exp. When I buy or farm all the items for the potion, and hit combine, Its exactly the same thing as when I fail except the RNG decided.

Since you can get a skillup on a failure combine (albiet the chance is a little lower), I dont see why you shouldn't get evolving exp on a failure as well.

trophies are not based on skill up points. they are experience based. experience is only gained by successfully doing things. thus my comparison to killing a mob is the same.

bleh, my point was saying that killing a mob successfully is determined by skill/tactics, doing a successful combine is luck, not really the same in my book. You can't come up with a sweet tactic to hit the combine button.

My trophy has been leveling up quicker than me

I got it when I was 270, it was 40%.

I'm now at 276, it is at 71%.

Is this weird that it is going to beat me to master level?

Not that I'm complaining or anything, but I definitely think it is weird.

Question: Do you get more "exp" for suceeding at a more difficult combine than you would get for succeeding at a combine just above your trivial?

On the subject of evolving on failed combines, I think that logically it should still evolve (but perhaps not as much). If I am cooking a steak, and I burn it because I leave it in the pan too long, I know what not to do next time. I am, in a word, a more experienced cook. Now as to whether or not we can reasonable expect the game to meet up with logic... thats an open question. On the same subject, a goblin should aways drop goblin blood (whether its hearty or not)... but it doesnt.

But the "item" is not a person. It does not "learn" as well as a person does. It only learns under very narrow conditions. It only learns from "positive" reinforcement, not negative if you want to put it in even near "human" terms.

So yeah, I was right. My trophy beat me to master level. It is now a Master Alchemist Trophy, while I am still at level 282, expert alchemist. Although, I don't think the trophy is skilling up anymore. Seems like it is waiting on me to get Master level.

I seem to be skilling up very, very slowly even though my success rate is very good (95%). Now I know that there is only about 4% chance of skilling up, but I think that I am getting less than 1% skill up rate considering what happened with my trophy.

Any ideas on how to get my level going again? I'm making Distillate of Celestial Healing X (Trival 348) to skill up.

                  Any suggestions would be appreciated.
