  • Stat potions have overcap

The level 7+ stat potions appear to raise your stat cap.
I was only able to test Str, Sta, Agi, Dex and Wis (I dont reach cap on Int and Cha).
The 4 melee stats cap are raise by 15 at level 7 and 30 at level 8.
The Wis cap was only raised 5 at level 7 and 10 at level 8.

If the pattern holds for levels 9 and 10 the melee stats cap should go up by 45 and 60.

Lucy shows that the resist potions also appear to have overcap bonuses.

I think Ngreth hinted at that before, and it's probably why there'll be something of a market for these. These days, it's trivial to reach the cap in your primary stat (eg Wisdom for priests). While Wunshi and the like have lifted the melee stat cap, I don't think there's been any equivalent for the mental stats -- so these will probably be useful when people are planning to do those skill-up runs, especially if they chug one of these while in the Guild Hall, where the Duration becomes somewhat irrelevent.

Ohh now that is just great.

First the PoK vendor sold haste potions that were better than my toon could cast, now the buffs in bottles become better than anything that I can do with spells. WTG

If you're a Shaman, these are an extension of your abilities... just because it's expressed via a potion bottle rather than via a direct-cast spell doesn't make it any less so. Just ask the Magicians, half of whose abilities come from summoned items with spell effects.

And, it will HELP your buffs.

Your buffs cap out... with the potion they will be able to extend it, not only for the potion itself, but for your spell.

I think Tiroon was complaining about stam potions mostly. Our high level stam buff has a 40 point overcap component.
Wunshi has a 85 point str and dex overcap, so it doesn't beat us there.
Our high level "agi" buff doesn't even buff agi anymore, it is a direct avoidance buff now.

To me it looks like three of the level X stat potions have a viable market; Sta, Int and Wis.

I think this is a great idea! I don't know a lot of people who were interested in stat potions unless they were solo-ing a lot.

This will definitely extend the usefullness of this potion line. But, now how about adding the overstat points to the entire line I - X. Help us sell some vendor-bought component potions. /nudge nudge

OK, I admit it, I'm not a very bright shaman. What is the name of the potions that increase Wisdom, and Stamana?

Ursine for stam and Avian for Wis.

Does the stamina potion stack with Fortitude? If so, I could very easily see someone wanting BOTH at the same time. And not everyone has access to a high-end shammy... it would be awsome for leveling.

I think I'm not understanding correctly. With buffs, my stamna is maxed. I have all the AA's to increase the cap to max. If I take the potion should my stamina increase?

I tried last night and it didn't seem to work. I even took off some armor to have stamina below max, and the potion didn't seem to increase it. I was buffed with Fotitude.

Also, I tried a magic resist potions, and as soon as I cast magic resistance, the potion was overwritten. Does that sound correct?

Again, sorry if I'm missing the point, just sometimes I'm a bit slow. * grins *

I do not think it stacks with the existing overbuff spells (allowing the Shaman spell to be prefered in cases where a Shaman is available)

So assuming you do not have another "overbuff" spell on you, then yes... using this potions you should see an additional increase in the stats that have reached the cap.

ok so plainly the overbuff potions DONT stack with the overbuff spells... basically like haveing a higher lvl shammie overcast on your buffs....

Right. It would be like having a Beastlord cast a spell on you then drinking down a potion. Or haing a shaman cast HoS on ya then drink down a potion. meh..one way or the other it works.

Fortitude raises Sta and the cap by a bit. It is a bit unreasonable to have the potions stack and raise it even more. For those groups that just can't find a shaman this is great.
