  • Determining the 'size' of herbs

    I've come up with the following method to determine what 'size' of herb you need for a given level of potion by looking at some of the ones already discovered, by looking at their prices (see my other post for the ingredient locations and prices spreadsheet):

    EDIT: table zapped due to errors. See next post for more correct info.

    The 'power control' herb and the vial are distinct for each size and category, and this has already been listed in detail in another thread by Celesta Windpetals.

    Thrown (Suspension of) potions use slightly different tables

    Level I-II: 0.001 pp = 1 cp
    Level III-V: 0.005 pp = 5cp
    Level VI-VIII: 0.104 pp = 1g 4c
    Level IX: ?
    Level X: ?

      Woops So much for that nice neat pattern.

      There's definitely some gaps to be filled in for the Suspensions from the reported data:

      I = ? (almost certainly 0.001, will confirm tonight)
      II = 0.001
      III = ? (could be either, will test tonight)
      IV = 0.005
      V = 0.005
      VI = 0.104
      VII = 0.104
      VIII = ? (will need some Taelosian sludge to test)
      IX = ? (will need some Taelosian sludge to test)
      X = ?? (will need to beg/borrow/steal shard of ro...)

      For Effusions etc, the progression is:

      I-III = 0.005
      IV-V = 0.104
      VI-VIII = 0.524
      IX = ?
      X = ?

      At the least, however, it's possible to work out what size of component is used by looking at a known potion of the right general type and the right level just by searching the price list for of that base type of component.
