Well, fail #9 on old GM alchemy trophy, and that's with 315 skill ... I'm not sure I can stomach another attempt, or going back to grieg's to farm endless hours for one drop, which is all I've gotten, and that was given to me by a Bst soloing there. I've yet to see it drop myself.

I finally got mine off of "A Shadowy Figure"

they also drop Rubust Shadow Essence, I got exciting when I saw that drop, but you need the Shade Essence,

5 hours so far in GE and nada.

droped from "a belligerent guardsmen" roughly centre of zone.

cleared every shade mob and every wretched mob from scarlet desert zone in to middle of griegs twice.

Got the essence of "a shadowy figure" and "a darkened occultist" in GE past the gate.

The Exceptional Shade Essence can be found on the 'shade' looking mobs in Greig's End. I got 3 in about 2 hours. Zoned in from Dawnshround and went to the castle and camped the area just past the portcullis.
