Anyone get the gate to work yet?

Tried all vial types.

Tried all teh vial types i could get my hands on. nothing for gate. Who ever posted the EXL sheet needs to go back and take that action off.

Try that recipe with 1 heliotrope and 4 prisms. This is what my gut tells me is the right recipe.


The recipe listed is direct from the books but I got DNC last night thought maybe they were gonna fix it during patch but obviouly not

I will change it in the next update.

Where Will I find a handful of prism grain, found pinch and measure but no handful?

Handfuls of prism grains as well as Handfuls of katuka bark, hemlock powder, ground figwort, benzoin, and allspice can be found in Abysmal Sea on Kristianna Hegeway in alchemy area.

kind of a hike in price

Ok, i may be out of line here, but i've been doing some maths.

For the new philter, the cost is *roughly* 145pp per gate.

The old 'gate potion' was (again, roughly) 250pp per gate

BUT, if you made a 10 dose potion, for roughly 2500pp, you could use up 9 charges, and sell it back to a vendor for almost 2kpp... giving you 9 'gates' for about 500-600 plat... being around 70pp each cast (rounding figures a whole lot). This means that the price of your 'gate' is pretty much doubled. If you're a melee class that uses gate potions a lot, and would have used 10 dose gate potions before, this is a bit of a price increase.

Was selling back the nearly spent '10 dose gate potion' before considered an exploit? Like i said, it reduced the price per cast a lot.

I love love love the fact that you dont have to worry about combining 'em 10 at a time also. And stacking to 20 is great too. Not so much loving the fact that it seems i now need to go to 3 different zones (with even more vendors) for the ingredients . The trivial is down from 176 to 131, and that will cut down on fails (although i always suspected that the old fate potion had a hard success cap on it).

I'm honestly having a lot of fun though, discovering what is pretty much a new tradeskill, so thank you Ngreth! And thanks to you guys who have already discovered so many recipes!
