    Lets start a list of Potions we would like to make, that would be reasonable and wouldn't upset game balance.

    I'll start.

    Potion of Plague.
    eff add proc to melee - 30 damage dd with 10 damage a tick for 6 ticks.
    potion would last 45 minutes, with an instant cast.
    ingredients inky secretions, bubonian blood, tainted planar essence, etheral essence in medicine bag. Set trivial at 300 to make use of the shaman alchemy failure class aa.

    as you could see from this you would need at least a 220 skill brewer (ethereal essence) and someone fairly adept and obtaining drops from plane of disease and possibly crypt of decay (blood and tainted).

    The only reason i say 45 min duration and instant cast is because thats what sucks about most of our potions; the long ass cast and short duration.

    What do you guys think? step in the right or wrong direction for pop alchemy?

    Ranger in a bottle? I can hear them cry from here...

    Potions of Draconic Rage are not a problem... minimal effort... and a 5 charge (50 minute total across the 5 charges) 65dd proc which doesnt go off that often.

    But 45 minutes? I think Rangers would cry cry cry.. :shock:

      Erolissi's Love Potion Number 9
      Effect: duration of next charm lasts 25% longer
      Set price of ingredients (which should include a semi common drop/forage) to about 30pp. Keep in mind this will only add maybe a minute to the duration of a charm (which would still be random duration).

      Innoruuk's Hate Potion
      Effect: horrifying visage
      Will it step on the toes of enchanters? A little bit. Would they really mind? I would tend to doubt it.

      Bertoxxulous' Potion of Death
      Effect: quasi feign death
      Allows anyone to half feign death. It would not remove aggro someone's generated (ie wont step on toes of monks), but would allow other classes to feign and not generate aggro. This would be targeted primarily at handling RL situations.... ie someone comes by to visit, gotta go do a #2 real bad, or any other time you need to go afk but don't want to hassle with logging out and don't want to come back to see the 'Returning to bind point... Loading please wait'

        Good Idea!

        I just thought of a good idea while I was taking my shower this morning (Go figure heh) ! A big problem with Alchemy is that the genral mass of people have no clue what exactly the potion effect does. How about making it so that when you Alt- Left click a potion to bring up its effects, charges ,etc., they could make it so that the potion effect name could be a link that you click on, and it would bring up a seperate window telling the stats/raw effects of the potion so people know what they are buying. I think that this would help the Alchemy economy if people could realise what some of these potions do.

          Ok, the board gave me an error when I posted, so I tried going back to see what was wrong with my post and submit again, little did I know that even though I got the error, it still submited my post. I'm extremly sorry for posting that so many times.

                  Shakoboy has a good point. Most the reason we can't sell potions to the general public is because they got some weird name that vague's out the potion.

                  IMO it should be like food where you see

                  So potions should be like

                  Potion of Calimony
                  Magic Item
                  Charges 1 Expendable
                  Str 40 Hitpoints 300 Dot Decline
                  Weight 0.1

                  Verant may consider this kinda stupid but it is the only way ppl will ever learn what potions do, period. PPL are way too ignorant to look what effects potions have. This is the ONLY way we'll ever make money from alchemy even at skill 205 with alch mastery 3. PPL just don't know / care what the potions do. If they knew what they did, at least some of the ppl might buy em.

                  Heres another good idea. How bout making some of the alchemy potions combine w brewing to make drinks. IE, lowers the effectiveness of the potion, but lasts as long as a drink. So we might see somethin like

                  Flask of Calimony
                  This is a miraculous drink!
                  Str 10 Hitpoints 50
                  Weight 0.1
                  (triv 300 brewing)

                  This would make it worth skilling up. I don't think any shaman would argue. I put triv 300 because lets face it. if the triv was too low than they would just flood the market, and judging by the stats on that thing would put all the other brewers outta business.

                  This is just an idea thread folks. I just wanna see verant do something with alchemy that is significant.

                  I recently hit 198 alchemy and I gotta say. It took me about 300k. So verant, where's my reward? I get to make stuff ppl wont buy because they have no clue what it is? or it don't last long enuf to be worth bothering?

                    As a 55 Ranger, I would buy a lot more potions if I only knew what they were for. The names are cryptic and very uninformational. I recently learned what a null potion was for and bought 5 10dose bottles of it. Man that extra dex is nice to have. I would have bought more long ago if I had only known. I have been looking for greater null potions in a 10 dose but no one seems to be selling them. I like the idea of giving the benifits in the description of the potion. I think many more people would buy potions if they knew what they were for. I only found out about the null potions because someone was spamming the bazaar /ooc with the info. now I'm hooked! I'm going to print up a list from the recipe pages an start looking for more that will be useful for me. I would love something similar to KEI in a bottle. Keep those potions coming, and SOE get with the program and get rid of the cryptic description and label these things more like the stat foods are labeled.

                    I'm looking forward to buying up a bunch of the shadeweaver gate potions, and will be looking in to some of the others. Keep up the good work shammies!
