  • Ensnaring Concoction VI tested

I tested it today with a monk alt. Placing concoctions into both ammo and range slots, I managed to chuck quite a few. They look like you're throwing green (LoY) bottles. The snare didn't seem quite as powerful as the lowest level ranger snare, but it did slow the mobs down. Also, it did 34 dmg / tick, and lasted somewhere between 6-10 ticks. I didn't have a chance to test it much, and I will post detailed results later on, but right now I am too tired to even go after more worthwhile in-game goals.

I just wanted to get the word out, since they do seem useful after all. =)

Sounds like a version of a necro/SK darknes spell ...

I tried using it with my shaman as well. Though I tried multiple times previously, what I had failed to do earlier was place a potion in both ammo and range slots. While this may seem evident to those who use throwing items regularly, it is pretty dumbfounding for us casters. =)

Six ticks, 34 dmg per tick, doesn't snare all that much on incoming, but works well when mob is retreating (or moving back towards spawn point). Also, it seemed to halt the mob at about 10% health. No fail throw. Keep in mind, this merely applies to Ensnaring Concoction VI, and other versions will probably differ in specifics.

My monk managed to land a critical initial hit (10)! =D

All told, it's a great way to snare mobs. Glad to have it. You don't hear this often from me, so copy and paste it: Kudos Devs on getting something extraordinarily right. =)
