  • It just seems strange...

This is not a real rant, more of an in character rant, but after 600 MTP combines and staring at 'you lacked the skills...' all weekend long....

I am a highly skilled baker. Give me a Eucalyptus leaf and a frosting and I can make 10 royal mints in the blink of an eye. I hardly ever make a mistake. I can whip up stacks of Jum Jum salad and mature cheese all day long with nary a slip.

Even better, give me ONE cake pan and a few ingredients and I can make 20 jum jum cakes at a pop! I hardly ever mess that up. AND, I can slice that cake into 10 perfect pieces without even a knife, every time. How's that for baking skill?

But, whenever I try to take a few of those nice things that I've made and try to put them in a picnic basket, I screw it up. 19 out of 20 times, I just blow the whole thing, and I manage to do it in such a way that I destroy everything, including the picnic basket.

    What a klutz.

I just wondered if it had ever struck anyone else as strange that putting things in a basket is one of the most difficult baking skills to master.

Putting things inside a basket is easy. Putting them inside so:

    (a) the cheese doesn't melt and go runny
    (b) the marmalade sandwiches are not squished
    (c) the jumjum cake frosting is not disturbed
    (d) the jumjum beer doesn't leak on everything
    (e) the mints don't fall into the bottom
    and
    (f) the basket closes completely

    Now THAT is hard!

        LOL

        I'm amused. :b

I can make the food, but don't ask me to put it in the basket, cause I just SUCK at it!

I wonder if you used 2 woven mandrake roots instead of 1 for the picnic basket. Could you get a basket that was actually big enough for all the food? It might solve the problem of the squished marmalade sandwiches.

It'd probably be a no fail combine and have no stats. :P

But would leave an 8 slot container after it was consumed?
(At least you would know that you had eaten your MTP when a basket appeared on your curser in the middle of a fight.)

Hmm... why isnt madrake root tagged as food? I mean if you can eat the basket along with its contents, mandrake must be edible, no?

Same with water flasks. I mean a flask is basically a bottle. You can combine 5 foraged water and a bottle in a brew barrel and get a water flask (and you can also screw up filling a bottle with water :boggle... why when you drink the flask, dont you get the bottle back?

                  Or demi sec champagne?

What a great skilling up path that would be. Make a champagne, drink it, and reuse the bottle.

Mandrake root really is edible. If you don't mind being horribly ill and hallucinating.

Mandrake has been used in "mystical" rites on Earth for thousands of years. But you won't see me eating any.
