  • Sometimes I scare myself...

I was mowing a couple acres of property I own. I obviously have been playing EQ too much, and have neglected to mow this particular bit of field for quite a while. The weeds were very tall. Combined with our wet spring/summer here in Michigan and you get an insect rich environment.

Hmmm, what likes moist conditions and lots of insects. Frogs! When I took the tractor out there to mow, hundreds of frogs started leaping for their little lives. The fled my field back toward the little creek near my property.

My first instinct was to feel sorry for the little froggies I was displacing.

This thought was quickly replaced with an image of Cigarskunk cheering wildly as the little froggies were being pushed out. Quickly after that came the image of Cigarskunk plotting with Meldrath or some other evil Gnomes to develop a tractor of his own so he could go mow all the little froggies right out of Grobb.

My tractor is an extremely used 1948 Ford 8-N pulling a 5-foot brush hog mower behind it. It would fit the image nicely. Unfortunatley, I am only 5'5" and 145 lbs, so I can't do justice to the troll portion myself.

Oh my. I used to drive a 1949 Ford Farmall (red - are they any other color?) working on a plant nursery many years ago.

Does your tractor still have a slot for the crank on the front? Do you ever use it? (there's an adventure).
