  • Calling all SUB 60s for information on Hate... <sigh>

I'm looking for information on a dying breed: those of us below 60. <sigh> Are there any out there?

I'm looking for information on the update to Hate and all I can find are "we went up with a group of 65s and cleared the place easy" Or, "we went up with two groups average 62 and..." <sigh> Since the epic quests require roaming around in Hate, and they are geared to folks who are 50+ AND the zone is open to 46+ (all right, 45 but I'd not go there at 45), what about those folks? Can they go there now?

I understand that the zone in is no longer aggro central, and that the North section of the zone is "yard trash" that can be held by 45 to 55s, but, that came from a high level group that cruised through there when it first came out, has anyone actually gone there with a group, or two, average 50 and tried it? What were the results? Do you think a group of 50s could hunt yard trash there? Does it take a minimal effort of 4 groupos of 45s, 2 groups of 50s???

What about it folks? Are we all too chicken to check the place out at levels below 60 or are those of us who are brave just too shy to brag about what we've done?

If you have any information that you can post, I'd appreciate it if you posted it here... uh, correction: any information OTHER than "I soloed the place at 65 with 200 AAs and Uber gear"... THAT I'll take as assumed information, I'm looking at hearing those who were actually CHALLENGED by the zone and lived to tell about it (and challenged doesn't mean you cleared the whole zone, nor that you got wiped but that you went, at a lower level, found things tough but doable with care, achieved a goal or two, and got out better for the wear).

Well the zone in is safe (unless some moron trains it) and I have seen sub60 groups killing mobs there. The area around the zone in has the same mobs as old hate had so they are easy (tm).

Pretty sure that you will be able to kill lots of trash with a standard group setup, meaning that you will need an enchanter, a cleric and a warrior....basically the holy trinity (+ a wizard for portup), maybe add a monk for pulling and one-any-other-class.

No idea how high your group should be, depends on your skill and equipment, I would say 56+ if you don't have morons who doesn't know what a mez is or why should they /assist a warrior.

As Sumamael says zone in safe - don't wander a bit though until everyone gets there. We did OK exploring with 3 groups of about 51-62 at the time (average 55), just be aware that aggro can get funny and whole buildings may come out. I would say it would be a bit tricky if the average is 50, but if your crew is skilled and you are careful you might do OK with the lower level parts of the zone - it will be challenging.

        THANKS but, I'm still ranting.

The reason I'm going here is our alliance does an Epic style hunt weekly. So far these hunts are "light fare" that do not call for a full raid effort. Ie: Pujluk Ulump is good, Faydedar is NOT. Betrayer is good, Ragefire is NOT.... etc, ad infinitum.

Mostly we want to camp rare drops to help our guildies out: Reavers, Betrayer, Raster, etc. Things that if you pick them up on a weekly basis, and do them for an hour or so, over time you ought to get what you need... it dawned on me that Essence of Vampire, SEoC, Hand of Maestro and the Mage dingus were in that category of needing to spend a large amount of time trying for it to get it (because they are rare)... .and thus it fit my paradigm of camping for them on a weekly basis. Also, it would be a nice change of pace from the other camps.

Problem is, the folks that will show up for this on a weekly basis will NOT be 65s, they will be those hunting the epic which is typically 55-ish... and given that it's Hate hey, it may dip into upper 40s (since the level limit is still set at 45). Thus, I want to plan on how to do this with low and high level groups (the latter being easy, the former more tricky). Problem is, I konw of no writeups where folks go in with less than a cadre of 65s anymore... it's getting frustrating (not to mention hearing: don't bother going if you aren't 60, really griping my goat these days that a 57th level Enchanter is basicaly useless in so many zones... especialy when a 55th level tank is readily accepted... and YES I know the reality of it: the tank can still put out damage that will NOT be resisted where the caster will be resisted, but, problem is it's hard to get up there if you can't hunt... right?)... <sigh> Glad I posted this in rants.

Whatever group can fart around in hate and kill minis can kill Fay and Rage (rage is naggy, fay is fish naggy)

From what ive seen of hate, the drops that used to be off mini's are randomly found on the 2nd level stuff (level ~57 mobs that look exactly like the old trash only have different names and more hp).

Some decent range item quests too. All parts are pretty rare, been helping a guildmate camp essence of a vamp for a few hours after raids for a while, and nothing so far, just armor turnins.

Ok, I have been to Hate 2.0 three times, my enchanter buddy 2 or three times. (*grumble* Essence of a Vampire)

One Plane of Innovation yard trash group can come here and make good exp and good loot. No kidding.

            MUST have:
Wizard (hmm... quick question... are there ANY other zones that don't have a PHYSICAL zone OUT?? Fear does. Veeshan's Peak does. Is this the ONLY zone in the game that if you can't get gated out you are fastened?)
            CLERIC. No cleric... no Hate.
Warrior. Accept no substitutes. The main tank HAS to be a tank.
Enchanter. Haste and slow and mezz. Seriously. If you are only taking ONE group you NEED mezz. I have seen VERY experienced level 65 FD pullers who couldn't get less than 4 mobs at times.
2 very high DPS people. Mage, Necro, Rogue or well equiped melee. Mobs need to die FAST. 8 to 15 minute respawns. You CANNOT afford to spend 2 minutes killing one mob.

Two groups gives you more flexibility. You can have the wizard be replaced by a druid if the wizard must leave. ALWAYS have enough druids/wizards to get all non-gate casters out. (Voice of experience. Raid went up, no druids, one wizard. Wizard went LD. Suddenly the ONLY thought on EVERY melee persons mind is "Will I have to CAMP in Hate?" Baaaad.)

Noteable changes. Spite golems CAN be mezzed. (resist like fiends, but they can be, even without Glamour) Check out Alla for the new quests. LoY maps DO NOT work in the zone. At ALL. Pets are acceptable for use. (Much better pathing.) Sitting at the zone in doesn't cause a HUGE train. There is no "second floor" so AE spells are safer. (Not SAFE, just safer.) Walls are still pretty thin, but not quite as bad. Avoid walls. Zone is indoor so no mounts. You WILL get mezzed by "a forsaken revenant" so have as much MR as you can get. (enchanter Group Magic Resist and any self only shield spells highly recommended. I have a 120+ buffed MR and frequently get mezzed.)

Going to Hate 2.0 is like the recipe for "rabbit stew" ... "first you gotta catch the rabbit" .... "first you have to have a willing wizard"

I dunno about "fart around and kill Mini's" ... pulling the mini's isn't something a single group or two in the mid-low 50s is gonna want to do. But I have to agree... Faydedar is pretty weak for PoP level groups. Our guild, which is by no means Uber, got 2 groups together on the fly and raced to Tim Deep to kill Fay. We had 3 people 60+ and the rest were from 51 to 58 and we had only one death due to slightly mangled pull. Two well organized groups that could do PoDisease courtyards can spank him.
In My (Not Always) Humble Opinion, except where I quote someone. If I don't know I say so.
I suck at this game, your mileage WILL vary. My path is probably NON-optimal.

The key rule for those going for the first time is: Never touch a wall. Any wall, in any building, even at zonein.

If you stay in the middle of a room or hallway you're ok, but sitting by a wall will make a train.

It really is easiest near the north end and zonein, appropriate for low 50s groups. As you go south it gets harder. It'll be obvious where the mobs get harder, since they have slightly different names.

I've been to hate ONE time since the revamp.

at 51, even at zone in, I NEVER saw a MOB that didn't /con White or higher. We had some 60+ people in a two group raid, including chanter and the MT so I didn't take a LOT of damage, but when I did get agro, it wasn't uncommon for me to be hit for 200+ and the Hand of Maestro hit me for 400+.

Two or three groups average low 50's in level will be fine, but you probably won't be going very far from zone in.

Plane of Growth has no zone out.

I have done several one group hunts in Hate. A 55th level party should have no problems. A lower level party can get killed off by adds to easily.

One bit of advice STAY AWAY FROM WALLS the agro range has been drastcly reduced but you can still pull a train by zoning in, backing up to the wall, and sitting down.

at 53, my twink chantress could not mez anything and we were not too far from zone in, (first time up and i was too distracted by the differences to know exactly where we were somewhere right of zone in a building or 3)

it wasnt that mez was resisted, was told, you cannot mez with that spell. i havent tried now that she is a couple levels higher. i would be leery of that.

A 52 bard CANNOT mez in Hate. Necro can mez trash mobs except for the spite golems and ashenbone drakes. Root parking isn't efficient either because parking one too close to a wall makes a very ugly situation.

I went up there as a 50 cleric. I should have been 51 with a faster casting instant-heal, although it will only heal one full round of attacks. Spell haste (from item) + spell haste (from spell) still didn't cut it. Ditto on the no cleric, no Hate though. Any tank that a druid can cheal is a very narrow margin of safety; a tank has to be able to soak up 1k+ of damage like nothing, because tank will take it before an add is mezzed.

I went up there as a 52 necromancer. Most fights were fast enough to only require ebolt (sometimes resisted) and bond of death. Spite golems HATED me because I usually cast the first spell that landed on it. Slows were 50/50 for landing but I think that's more level related than resist related.

Essence of Vampire? what's that? Not a bad assortment of class specific armors, though, upon the first floor trash.

Remember to be in melee range of the ashenbone drake. . .it's not a skellie, it's a dragon. . .

You don't need a warrior in Hate. In fact, until VI fixes warrior taunt, a Paladin or SK is much better in Hate, due to the ability to snap aggro a mob.

Zone in can be held by a group of 55's no problem.

Mini's can be done by two decent groups of 55 to 60.

Biggest problem I've had up there, is when you hit the sections that have agents/champions/knights/etc of hate, level 62, hit like tier 2 pop mobs....and have a nasty tendency to bring a whole building on the pull...get more than 3, and most raids wipe.
