This is far from the stupidest thing I've done in EQ, but it's on the list.
I hadn't played in a long time - started back again a month or so ago.
Recently I made a ranger and was going to skill up on fletching. To that end, I a few days ago decided to send my druid to Sister Isle to pick up a few 'stacks' of kiola nuts for Tumpy's tonics for Trueshot attempts.
As I said, I haven't played in a while and the last time I did, the porting gnomes were pretty much a regular feature. I ran my druid to East Freeport, out to the end of the dock and, of course, no gnome. Not on track either, so I figure - well, try the BBM end. So I port over there, run to the docks and no gnomes there either. But, while I'm there, the boat pulls in and I figure, fine, I'll just ride the boat. I hate riding boats, but at least I don't have to wait for this one.
Now, sometime long in the past, I'm sure I have ridden the boat from BBM to Freeport, but it's been a while. The most recent times I've been to OOT, I've ridden from Freeport and stopped on Sister Isle and then ported or gated back, and even that has been quite a while ago.
So, anyway, I'm riding along and watching and the boat stops and I look and say, 'hmmm, that's not sister isle - I guess this thing makes a couple of stops.' So I stay on the boat and watch, and watch and wait and wait and I'm thinking 'man, this is a big zone', until finally I zone and.... "You have entered East Freeport."
What the heck? So I get off the boat and switch to window mode and go check out the map at EQ Atlas and finally figure out what happened. By this time, of course, the boat has left East Freeport, so I port back to BBM, sit and wait for a LONG time until finally the boat gets there.
I ride it back into the zone. Hop off at the first island and Sow and Lev myself and then run all over the place and finally find Sister Isle. Go to the vendor and, of course, 'dang - they're not stackable.' And, I'm not even full up on backpacks. I am able to buy 36 of them and then my inventory is full.
Now, I'm not very instantly adaptable, so I'm thinking 'well, I've got more than enough for the micro-servos I have now; I guess I'll just have to come back another time.' So I gate back to PoK and about five seconds after I get back it dawns on me that all I had to do was bind on the dock and I could have made as many trips as I wanted to.
Crud - oh well, next time.
So, a few days pass - I've made a couple of Trueshots, gathered more micro-servos and almost maxed out my fletching on regular arrows.
I get ready for work this morning and I've got a little less than a half an hour before I have to leave for work and I'm thinking, 'maybe this would be a good time to get the druid back to Sister Isle and bind him there.'
So I log in, get to East FP and sit and wait for about 15 or 20 minutes for the boat to get there. I'm thinking - I don't have much time left, but I tell myself 'all you've got to do is get there, bind, and then camp desktop and you're gone.' So I go ahead and hop on the boat.
Come on boat - move, move. Time's passing - zone in to OOT - should I hop off and run? No - island is the first stop - it's not very far. Come on boat, move, move.
While all this is going on, I'm actually doing stuff on the other computer and just glancing at the EQ session occasionally. So, finally, pulling in to Sister Isle - gonna be a few minutes late for work - not a huge deal, just gotta get out of here quick.
Hop off the boat - click Bind - turn back to the other computer to close out what I'm doing. Look back and I see that the screen is frozen and my UI is gone. And I suddenly realize that I clicked gate instead of bind.
So, now I've ridden the boat to OOT 3 times (and all the way through once) for a total of 36 kiola nuts. And I'm not done yet. Who knows what will happen on the next trip.

I'll get even...
There were a lot of corpse runs after that one.
