  • Discussion: Races/classes that still need imbued BD armor

With Frogloks apparently getting their own cultural armor soon, I think it's time that other characters who have existed before Gukta get their due. Now, I'm not saying that the new Froglok armor will be comparable to BD armor, but that doesn't matter. They have armor that they can *wear*. They can wear almost every other culture's non-imbued armor plus Luminant Heraldic. And though I sympathize with the Trolls, I have accepted the fact that I (a Half Elf) will probably never have cultural armor to craft. But at least I have some I can wear, the pour souls below do not. I posted this not as a rant or whine, but as a petition I can forward to SOE to try to get this changed. (I really don't understand why some of these deity choices are still available at character selection, but I guess that's another issue.)

Race/class/deity combos that have no imbued BD armor:

    Barbarians:
    Beastlord - Mithaniel Marr
    Rogue - Bristlebane

    Dark Elves:
    Rogue - Agnostic, Bristlebane, Innoruuk
    Wizard - Solusek Ro

    Erudites:
    Wizard - Solusek Ro

Gnomes: (Note: I excluded classes which can wear the new Gnome BD armor, though not imbued its stats are comparable to other race's imbued BD armor)
Enchanter - Agnostic, Bertoxxulous, Brell Serilis
Magician - Agnostic, Bertoxxulous, Brell Serilis
    Necromancer - Bertoxxulous
Wizard - Agnostic, Bertoxxulous, Brell Serilis, Solusek Ro

    Half Elves:
Bard - Bristlebane, Solusek Ro, Brell Serilis
Rogue - Bertoxxulous, Bristlebane, Karana, Erollisi Marr, Rodcet Nife

    High Elves:
Enchanter - Karana, Erollisi Marr, Mithaniel Marr
Magician - Karana, Erollisi Marr, Mithaniel Marr
Wizard - Karana, Erollisi Marr, Mithaniel Marr, Solusek Ro

    Humans:
Bard - Bristlebane, Solusek Ro, Brell Serilis, Tunare
Enchanter - Bertoxxulous, Karana, Erollisi Marr, Mithaniel Marr, Rodcet Nife
Magician - Bertoxxulous, Karana, Erollisi Marr, Mithaniel Marr, Rodcet Nife
    Monk - Agnostic, Quellious
    Necromancer - Bertoxxulous
Rogue - Bertoxxulous, Bristlebane, Innoruuk, Karana, Erollisi Marr, Rodcet Nife
Wizard - Bertoxxulous, Karana, Erollisi Marr, Mithaniel Marr, Rodcet Nife, Solusek Ro

    Iksar:
    Beastlord -Cazic-Thule
    Monk - Cazic-Thule
    Necromancer - Cazic-Thule

    Ogre:
    Beastlord - Rallos Zek

    Troll:
    Beastlord - Cazic-Thule, Innoruuk

Vah Shir: (Note: this represents ALL Vah'Shir)
    Bard -Agnostic
    Beastlord - Agnostic
    Rogue - Agnostic
    Shaman - Agnostic
    Warrior - Agnostic

    Wood Elves:
Bard - Bristlebane, Karana, Erollisi Marr, Mithaniel Marr, Rodcet Nife, Prexus, Quellious, Solusek Ro, Brell Serilis, The Tribunal
    Rogue - Agnostic, Karana, Tunare
    Warrior - Karana

*Edit - Changed the topic's title. EQ Traders does not support petitions. Discussion of the topic, and compilation of lists, etc. are fine, but no petitions. ~Lothay
Edit-Edit - AND SOE has stated clearly that they ignore petitions (not the in game /petition but the "get everyone to sign" petition) becuase they ALWAYS end up being a gargantuan laundry list of the undoable, unbalancing, and unfeasable WITHIN the list of feasable, and doable stuff... so #1 it is too much extra time to sort throguh it... and #2 they get whined at just as hard when they do not inculde every line item... including the un's... ~Ngreth

What about Dark Elves Warrior - Rallos Zek?

Not to mention that the Imbued(or not) BD chain would just plain suck for a rogue anyway... and Rallos Zek and Solusek Ro aren't really a part of Teir`Dal 'Culture' so shouldn't get an imbued armour either.

      Couple more you're missing:

      Troll warrior: agnostic
      Ogre warrior: agnostic

Iksar Warriors and SKs: Need Heavy Chain added. Let's face it, even the chain classes don't wear cultural chain. To expect a plate class to wear it? Heavy chain should be added with 1-2 lower AC per piece than the cultural plate standard.

Dwarven Brell based armor also needs to have stats adjusted on boots and one other piece (collar?). These have the same stats as non-imbued versions.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't the cultural armors put in specifically as a response to the folks claiming that following a specific deity in the game conferred numerous disadvantages (in terms of being KOS and having restricted quests) while not conferring a single advantage? My recollection is that Agnostics were specifically excluded from cultural armor by design, precisely because they're Agnostic and thus get the benefit of being able to wander around many places in Norrath that are closed to the religiously minded.

If my recollection is correct, then adding "Agnostics" to the list of folks who can use the cultural armor would simply bring back an old problem that the cultural armor was created to address in the first place.

That's why the non-imbued lack benifits of the imbued. The imbued is *better* armor, but there still is an *option* for agnostics, which is good imo.

While a lot of combinations as mentioned in a few posts have *poor* choices for armor, they at least have *something*. The point of this was to try and address the race/class/diety combinations which have *nothing*.

My little gnome magician of brell (race created by brell, works with earth ... seemed like a logical choice {sigh}) is waiting patiently for the day he can wear something. Its combinations like that which cause problems - ones that exist for RP-ish reasons (all gnomes *can* worship Brell, as their creator) (wizards all can worship Sol Ro, as god of fire (and therefore nuking the behjizuz out of stuff?)) don't fit the "standards" and therefore aren't hit without thought.

One question about the original list- you say "Race/class/deity combos that have no imbued BD armor:" (emphasis mine), and then include agnostics ... if they're agnostic they wouldn't get an imbue, that's the point ... if you're just dealing with "no BD armor" though and "imbued" was a typo, that makes sense. Which list is it?
Maybe that was the point/question Ruatha was trying to make, and I just missunderstood.

For Brell following dwarves, those 2 pieces have the exact same stats as non-imbued. That means those 2 pieces basically are missing from their set, except you pay more for nothing. It's a minor tweak, requiring no added recipe, just a fix to the final item's stats.

And for the Iksar plate classes, armor you wouldn't wear isn't something. It's nothing. It'd be like me pointing out that all the non-iksar plate races can wear fine plate or the older cultural stuff. It's not comparible to BD cultural plate. Cultural chain isn't worn by the chain classes. It certainly won't be worn by the plate ones. That is a gap that should be filled, since it means Iksar plate classes effectively have no cultural.
