Occasionally stupidity just gets the better of you

I recently started lvling up a bard on my 2nd account. I plan on using it just to pull the Hollowshade war for smithing components. Thats the only reason it exists and will be all it is ever used for.
So I take about 2kpp buy some armor with decent AC (since thats all I care about) and start the journey. I have my druid port#$*# following her around and healing/buffing/DS when need be. At lvl 12 Bards get their first DD song, so naturally I start using this song to pull mobs with. After a couple mobs I realize just how short the range on this song is...Basiclly I'm better off just running up to the mob and hitting it to pull it. Logic tells me I need something with better range.
I log on Moonlilly and look to make a bow to pull with. As I now have a decent Fletching skill (232 for those that dont want to check) I slap a plane, couple cams, silk and a Shadewood staff in the kit. Fail! No big problem. Try it again. SUCCESS! I meet up with my bard hand over the bow and then look at its stats. Then I start beating my head on my desk because I just spent ~600pp to make this thing and forgot BARDS CANT USE BOWS.

Ahhh yes, reminds me of that Ivandyr's Hoop I bought for a pretty copper shortly after the Bazaar opened. It said shaman usable, and had a slew of races including the large ones so I didn't look closer. Imagine my surprise when I tried to equip it and saw the "not the right race/class/deity" message. Lo and behold, it's usable by all the other large AND medium races, but not by barbarians. Luckily, it sold for what I'd paid after a week or two.

As for your bard, if you don't want to start from scratch with an archery class, you could look into throwing items. I don't know that you can do much damage but you might be able to get more range than your songs do, which is really all you need for pulling.

Bards Selos and AoE slow song get gigantic masses of mobs mad at you, good for pulling nice trains around, gathering them all up for a nice big AoE nuke. Just need some more levels and some practice.

Stupidity strikes again...

Last night I attempted to make a Blessed Full Mithril Breastplate for a RL friend. My second attempt actually. So after gathering everything up I sit down in front of the forge. Ring! Phone rings. Its another friend of mine so I'm happily chatting away while putting stuff in the forge Infused mithril shett x 3. Check. Elven Smithy hammer. Check. Moonlight temper. Check. Jointing. Check. Padding Check. Mold. Check.Yak yak yak on the phone Ok thats everything *Combine* WOOHOO Sucess! Right click the BP...hmmm Something's wrong. Why does this say Full Mithril Breastplate? *Starts to beat head on wall* I forgot the #%*& emerald!
