I haven't a clue if it was announced on the production servers. But they have a new toy on the Test server. Instant 25th level characters with gear thats better than I've seen for "normal" starting from 1st and working up to 25th level characters.
I thought the MPC's were bad, this is worse. Production server players (Proddies as they are affectionatly/insultingly called by the test server regulars) normally migrate to the Test server only when their servers are down for maintenance or they want to try and see what test is like. Usually we see a plague of 1st - 4th level characters in the newbie zones and most know to escape and leave for higher level grounds.
Not so anymore. Now with the simple command of /testbuff you instantly become a pod person. A newborn 25th level, still wet behind the ears, character.
Do you know what its like to be asked out of the blue how to summon your warder (beastlord pet) by a 25th level beastlord!! At first it was humerous and I didn't mind answering. However, after the 30th time, it gets old real quick. When you explain to them that they need to cast a spell to summon, that its no longer an ability. The next question is usually, can you spare me some money to buy the 24th level pet spell (which oddly enough wasn't included). The 24th level pet spell is about 12-24 pp (memory is more than a little fuzzy since I've not had to buy that spell for well over 6 months almost a year) for just that one spell.
/role and /anon work real well here.
Some zones have become rather unique. Halas is now a necropolis, bodies litter the ground 2 or 3 deep in some spots. It would seem the barbarians have had bad breeding stock as of late and are busy culling out the weaklings.
Sour grapes on my part you might ask, that the pod people get better gear than in some cases I actually still use. No... Its more from this morning... Listening to a pod person (25th level warrior) complain why he shouldn be allowed to camp the ice giants, or at least take one of them. The mage who had the camp (unlike the production servers, most people will look to see if there is a 49+ character in the zone and then leave, or ask if one of the giants are free.).
I just hope that they actually either take the feature away or fix it to where it does the increase once only per character.
Thank you, I just needed to get that off my chest.. its bugged me beyond believe this morning.
Take care all..
*hugs*
