It would be very very unlike Spiritual to create a hoax, so I consider the info he posted in the news section of the main EQDruids site to be accurate from his talks with the developers. That said, until the changes occur, SOE can always change direction on how they will do things. (And they might change after implementation too )

Either way I am doing another happy halfling dance for some cool potential changes.

I know a lot of you like the idea, but I find it SO unroleplaying to transfer items between accounts. *sigh* I find it odd that they are chipping little by little away at the few things that help enforce some minimal roleplaying in EQ, but seem to be adding more things to enforce it in EQ2...

They are adding the ability to transfer items in your bank from one character to another on the same account. So you can share money and droppable items through one bank account instead of having to use mules to trade items (no drop of course will not transfer through).

        It's been confirmed.

This is working on test server.

The bank window has 2 slots marked as 'shared'.
I put 2 bags in them, and changed characters on the same account, those bags were still there, with the items inside.

No-drop items, obviously, cannot go in these slots (or into bags in these slots). Thats still being ironed out. One SK i know said they inadvertantly put their Greenmist in a bag and put it in that slot, now they cant remove the bag from the slot. Such is Test server.

Also on test server, if you want to try out a new toon and dont want to bother getting thru all the newbie levels, you can type /test and you are instantly lvl 25, with 3 bags of an assortment of typical lowbie non-twink gear (think Centi short, orc fang earrings type stuff 20p in bazaar or less), all your spells already scribed in spellbook (if youre a spellcaster) and appropriate casting skills. You also get 130 in Fishing (wtf?) and 130 skillpoints to use at your leisure.

All the armor you get is blatantly copied from recognizable gear, but changed to 'Rangers Breastplate' or 'Enchanters Earring' an are all tagged NO DROP.

          And no, im not kidding.

Ive already /test'ed 2 of my mules to work up my Language skills. Only coss like 120p to get 100 skill in any language at a trainer. =)
My lvl 16 gnome tinkerbot that i power-leveled myself some time ago will probably remain lvl 16. hehe. But it will be useful if i ever need those lvl 12 mana vials.

            This is fun!

I logged in to test , of course, to verify and confirm.

This is NEVER EVER EVER going live, thank god. Just designed to make it easier to play on test.

I may be wrong, but I heard a rumor long ago that Test also has character wipes every once in a while. Now that I think of this, I'm highly suspicious of that rumor, since Ive heard test is in elementals.

I can only think of one character wipe that has happened on test. I believe it happened because the GM's gave out a bunch of uber gear, and then forgot who they gave it to. That said, I don't play on test, so there may have been more wipes, but thats the only one I have heard about.

                  What about Lore items?

If Caena puts a Collapsed Toolbox in a "shared" slot, and then camps, and Fons (who has a Collapsed Toolbox) logs in, what happens? Does one poof? Is the "shared" slot locked?

So the bank thing is basically just going to be two extra slots that are shared by all your characters?

Hm, so sounds like only 2 slots will be shared then? Still, fill it up with spider silk, log onto mule, he sticks them in regular bank, log back, fill up now empty shared slots with more silk, repeat...mule holding my supplies so I'm not overloaded. Still pretty cool, though I am also curious about that lore thing too.

                        2 slots = 20 slots = 400 silk.

                        Or, even better, 400 swatches.

Shared slots?!? Doh! That means I LOSE bank space overall. I lose two slots per character or a total of 14 bank slots. POO!

I think they are 2 extra slots....

Technically you'd lose 1per account if you want to do the math your way though, think about it.

                                Two extra slots = good.

                                As for my math:

Currently I have 128 bank slots (16 per character, 16x8=128)

If each character gives up two slots to the shared spot, that becomes 14 bank slots per character (112) + 2 shared across all accounts = 114.

128 - 114 = 14 lost slots across all characters. That works out to losing two slots per character, except my main, who keeps 16. I didn't mention that the main character keeps 16 slots, as I thought it was obvious.

But if the shared bank spaces are EXTRA, then this is moot and I am happy again. Test is down so I can't check for myself.

EDIT: On second thought, of course they are two extra slots. Sony wouldn't be able to make two slots just disappear per account--we have stuff in those slots. Duh.
