  • AHHH Computers hate me!

    Honest they do!

They are all conspiring against me!

Usually I have to restart my computer at work at least once a day (thanks windows XP)

Well last night takes the cake. I try to log on my main's account and it says the login or password are incorrect. So I check caps lock. Not on. Is the shift key "stuck?" Nope. Still says incorrect password. So I start to get worried. Has someone hacked my account?

I call my husband in and ask him if he changed passwords. Nope, he doesn't even remember my password.

So I try to log in on the second account. Logs in. Now I start to get real worried. I try all variations of all passwords I have ever used. Nada.

My husband gets on his computer and tries to log in. Boom. Gets in.

MY DUMB computer wouldn't let me in my account. I restarted and could log in. Weirdest thing I have ever had happen.

Every time you insult your computer, within earshot, it remembers.

      Sounds like xp home :P
Try sacrificing a ranger to it and coddling it's ego, maybe some more ram would make it happier
I love mine, I never crash anything anymore (other than EQ  )

This reminds me of when I was doing phone support and people kept asking why why why why is it doing this.

I always used to ask if they waved their rubber chicken over the keyboard and bowed to the north, south, east , and west twice.

There was a period of a few hours after the patch when lots of passwords had been changed. Then it was fixed. Blame Verant or Sony or somesuch, don't blame your computer.

              re

that would be a good explanation except it wasn't a few hours after the patch it was 8 cst last night and my husband logged into the account on a different computer at the same time mine still would not let me log in

More ram? I have 512 MB

Maybe I will try the bowing in every direction prior to logging on from now on.

                why?
when i had ME, i must have had the best copy in existance... once left an AIM chat window open with the BF for eight (8) days.

Sometimes I don't restart XP for a couple of weeks. Never need to.
When ME finally started getting wierdly buggy and then went BOOM!... XP fixed all my problems. I never thought I wouldn't absolutely despise an M$ product.

Home angers me. My parents run Home, and it babies them. Hence, they don't know how to DO anything.

/hug kiatek tho, b/c it does sound like it doesn't like you. I don't know why, tho... maybe threaten to erase it with a magnet and reformat if it doesn't start acting right. ^_^

Customer: Technical support? My computer keeps spitting out my cheap software

Support: Hold the phone next to your computer please.

                  -- customer moves phone--

Support: Do you remember where we said we'd put your chips if you messed this up? PROGRAMMABLE TOASTERS!

                    LOL! Kiztent that is priceless!

It does remind me of how our RPG group reminds our dice to start behaving again, though. We hold the misbehaving dice cupped in our hands and whisper, "cat toys," to them. Somehow, it seems to work.

There is still a long way to go before we have any true form of Artificial Intelligence...

Artificial malevolence however is alive and kicking
