• So what you combine for cash ?

Am finaly 240+ and i started to try to get cash back (costed me around 100k total mostly from buying stacks of swirling shadows).
I started making sickles (2h 20 combines 9 average success) and cultural armors (High Elf Blessed armors).

Started to look for other things but am not sure if theres a market and if its worth it.

Thx For Comments

Tae Ew gear on some servers sells good. About 80 to 90% success rate reported at max skill. Piss-easy recipe (see below).

http://www.eqtraders.com/secrets/recipes_cazicthule.htm

Shield normally have the best profit margin (1 tae ew blood + 1 iksar blood is cheaper than 2 tae ew blood).
Try to buy the bloods from players for 500pp each or pharm them yourself in CT (tae ew off any lizard) and Dulak (Iksars on Windscorn boat).
On my server you can sell a Tae Ew Shield for 10kpp to 13kpp. Though prices are starting to drop

CT Chain Legs/Tunics sell for 14kpp+. But need 2 Tae Ew Bloods to make.
Forget making CT plate as Tae Ew Scales are ultra-rare.

If you feel lucky, you could buy bloods in bazaar but dont over pay for a stack of bloods then fail lots....

Night terror armor (especially plate!) is a {bleep} to make and quite frankly, I have sold bugger all of it. Nice armor to make for friends though.
Hurricane armor is nice but Drops of Pure Rain are hard/pricey to get and stats are only a bit better than Cultural or Skyshrine though of course its droppable and has no deity stuck to it!

I'm making Ogre Cultural, although I don't have quite the same outlay to recoup, since I farmed all my swirling shadows I doubt I spent more than 5K getting to 232. Since Vigeant isn't buying any more it's easier to get Swirling Shadows on AB now

I don't know of any other way to make money at the moment, since the Tae Ew and PoP components are out of my reach.

PoP Chain isn't too bad - actually the Night Terror is better than the Tae Ew except for the tunic. Components are relatively cheap (if you are patient). I generally have a tunic and leggings up on a bazaar mule, make other pieces to order.

Acrylia plate - I stock BP and leggings up for sale,. Not a huge profit, but I'll sell 3-4 pieces a week, and it keeps me in C3. Black Acrylia halbard, same.

Tae Ew prices are being pounded flat on Quellious - 7250 for a shield and 8000-8500 for tunic. Two smiths, in particular, want to engage in a race to the bottom. Still keep a tunic and shield in stock, but not the cash cow it was a couple months ago by far.

Cultural I make to order. If you don't use a separate bazaar mule, may be good to have a few pieces up for sale for name recognition. Might yield some tells for word of mouth.

On Quellious the Tae Ew is earning me massive quantities of plat.
I sell a couple of Tae Ew Londswords and several Shields everyday.
I price my product at about 3 times cost of components and sell in volume. I can't see why people try to charge 12 or 15k for an item that is so common. At 7500pp per item I rake in the cash at 20-40k aday. When the item was new to the market I sold it for 10k per item and still made great plat. Personally I wont touch the tunics and leggings. The competition is cut throat on it with at least 6 or 7 people at a time trying to under sell each other. I will make them for guildies at no cost but that is it. The biggest problem I see is with the buy low/sell high crowd. I constantly have people buying my products and immediately putting it up for sale for 2 or 3k more than I sell it for. Eventually they start dropping the price just to get rid of it and cause prices to drop as everyone tries to dump the item they thought they were going to make big bucks on. It takes a week or so for them to sell out but it levels out again and sales pick up again at regular prices. Rinse, repeat over and over. Very frustrating at times but oh well, it's retail business

Edit: This morning I found 70 vials of tae ew blood for sale. As well as 8 tunics, 9 leggings, 11 shields, 6 longswords, 1 mace and 1 dagger. With such a proliferation of merchandise no person can justify the outrageous prices being demanded by some traders. The trader with the best prices will make the sale. If that trader can provide dozens or hundreds of the product then all the other traders will lose out on sales. And of course they will all piss and moan that their business is being hurt. That is called BUSINESS. The bazaar is a competitve arena while the zones with mobs are coperative zones. I am the trader that provides the volume sales with a dozen or more of each item in stock at any time(although I only display 1-3 in my trader window at a time). I have had people actually give me iksar and tae ew blood free just to keep me selling at low prices. They have bought from me previously or intend to buy in the future for an alt. I have developed a loyal customer base and provide other smithed items at good prices and sometimes even free if they buy alot from me. It's just good business that makes money and friends at the same time.

Yes on Tribunal there is one smith who is solely responsible for trashing the Tae Ew Market (Edit by DenMom: name removed - NO personal attacks allowed. PERIOD)
This < bleep - bleep - bleep > likes to continually under cut everyone by 50 plat. No matter HOW low they drop their product.
This has caused some REALLY spectactular price drops (Tae Ew shields are down from 14k to 9kpp in the last week or 2).

Believe me, there is nothing worse than checking your PC every hr or two and noticing someone has under cut you by 50 plat.

He's a human smith so I intend to skill one up shortly and under cut HIS Heraldic by a sufficent margin to teach him a lession (I was planning to expand into that market anyway, but now I have added incentive!).
What goes around, comes around.

I LOVE it, Zhorn!

Good luck at giving him back a little of what he gives.

Pottery is going that way now for my 249 potter, and Tae ew armor is starting to go that way on Drinal too. It will be very hard to make any profit at all on by the time I get high enough to risk making it. Some pay off for months of farming shadowscream. Oh well. I hope people don't try to destroy EVERYthing profitable about tradeskills.

There are some people on Rodcet that think this type of behavior is fun too :?
I did try to talk to some of them about it, but all it got me was hassle (got excluded from joining a friend's epic battle, etc), so now I just continue to match as I always did, and let them ruin the market as they want.

When turning the tables on an undercutter, start it gradually. Make sure they notice that you're undercutting them specifically, and not undercutting everyone. To do that you need to adjust prices during a time of day that they're actually at their computer, not asleep or at work. Raise your prices again whenever they're not online (if ever). They might even send you an angry tell, but they tend to be pretty quiet folks. Then they're hooked. You can lower their prices to whatever you want. I'd take pleasure in buying all their tae ew armor for 100pp each.

We also have a person trying to destroy the market on Luclin. I will continue to undercut him until he comes to realize that this isnt a bottom-less market. There is a finite number of people that will purchase the Tae Ew armor and thus there is only a limited number of sales to be gained.

I tried that actually. I got them down to 3,000pp on the Tae Ew Shield. I logged off and logged my alt in. I ran across the bazaar to buy the 2 shields but they raised the price back to 7500pp about 10 seconds before I reached them.

Just remember that you can lose your item to a random shopper that sees your price just as low as thiers.

Fun Game to play when you notice market undercutters ~
(these people used to really piss me off, so I decided to return the frustration to them... works especially well if they constantly check prices)

Go through the normal /pricewar BS, constantly undercutting them by large margins.
when it gets to the point of being ridiculously low... do one of two things~
either buy their stock at lowball prices -OR- raise price back to where you started. (this is where the fun begins)
They should match, and undercut you. For the offchance they might have an IQ.. match their price first... if they leave it, yer set (and satan will be discovering the joys of yellow snow...) If not.. continue to rinse/repeat the /pricewar BS untill they are too frustrated to change their prices anymore. After cycling prices from low to high and back again 4-5 times per hour.. even the densest moron should get it,... and you can eventually agree on a decent, matched, price.

It can be a blast when you realize they are exhasperated and changing price every minute or two....5k, 4.9k, 4.8..... 2.4k..... 1.8k.... 5k! (HA!)... 4.9, 4.8, etc, etc.

BTW... 50pp, or X99pp undercut traders should be SHOT ON SIGHT. I will pay higher prices to traders with even prices... and will avoid you plicks at all costs. IT IS SUCH BULL@@@T.

NO, I don't mind being undercut, but if you are going to do it, have the decency to do it by a large margin. 5pp is hardly going to put me out of business.
And this refers more to when I PURCHASE things..... I despise the tactic of trying to make prices "look" smaller. I find it insulting that you may think I'm enough of a dumb#$%K that I am going to buy your 4995pp item instead of someone selling for 5k. I pull multiples of 1k out of my bank, and will not think twice about spending 20, 50, or 70pp more just to keep things even.
Go buy a gas station so you can chisel 1/10 of a penny off the price in order to appear less if that's what you like to do. =P

IMO, price high, price fair, or lowball the crap outta someone if you need to sell it. realisticly, it has zero real effect on me... I just find the practice to be an excercise in stupidity.
