  • Trophy bags

So my question is, if you have more than one trophy on one character, do you get "another" grandmaster satchel? I've seen one gal's magelo listing a trophy for like 5 or 6 different skills...I suppose however many you can have, guess that's 7? So 7 bags as well?
    my guess is no.....
So, why do people get multiple trophies? I know many people just have one per char and skill.....or maybe this person really has them scattered about on several characters, just listing it on main...but knowing who she is, I doubt it, I think she has 7 trophies
Seems like a lot of ego stroking and/or bragging to me.....and also quite silly.

Obviously I retract all of this if you can indeed have 7 bags 8)

Unfortunately not. All the trophies summon the exact same bag and the gnome in the Bazaar gives the exact same (rentable) bag.

Personally I'm hoping that someday they allow you to combine all your trophies into some sort of super trophy that looks nice when held.

        Sinuuyanea,

Don't be daffy, you shouldn't be ashamed. You'd be quackers to feel that way about such an accomplishment as gaining your epic. Now, not getting your epic just because of a few ruffled feathers could probably put you in a fowl mood, but then that'd just be an excues to duc... dodge the work required. Be a good egg and feel glad you have your epic! Someone would have to be suffering from a serious mallerdy to make fun of something so important.

You could have just given her the Bird.

But then, that would be "DOWN" right mean of you.

You'll be a sitting duck at a turkey shoot! Like shooting ducks in a barrel! It's a lame duck argument anyway, so you might as well goose step up in front of the firing squad.

One reason for multiple trophies is to show to potential clients. Sure you COULD have gotten the trophy at 220, but this is a little more proof to a customer that I know what I am doing.

Another reason is that you get the 5% bonus when it is equipped in your secondary or ranged slot. Geerloks require primary slot. So when I got my pottery trophy at 243, that enabled me to keep 25 INT from my main hand while keeping my 5% bonus. That let me skill up faster (higher INT) while maintaining my success rate (because star ruby steins are expensive to fail).

Another reason is for the fun. Trophies have different appearances. If I put my sculpting tool (looks like a knife) and corker (looks like a pick) in my hands it looks like I am a dual wield wizard. I can equip my eyeglass (looks like a shield) in my main hand and my spoon (looks like a mace) in my offhand and it looks like I am backwards. If I put the eyeglass in my main hand with my shield offhand, it looks like I have two shields. People ask me all the time how I did that.

The bag itself really isn't a reason to get a trophy, in my mind (except maybe for monks, who love the weight of the bag). A trophy costs 4000pp or so, assuming you make it yourself and have no failures. The boards are filled with people who report 5 or more failures. For only 5200pp you can simply buy a tinker bag with no risk. My 4 trophies took 10 attempts for more than 50k (BDs were more expensive then), for a total cost of more than 12k each. If I could pay 12k each for a fletching, smithing and tailoring trophy right now, I'd do it in a second. I'd save so much money in the long run.

                      Optimist

Personally, I am a bit optimistic that SoE might re-design trophys somewhat, that instead of generic bag you get now, you could get an appropriate trade container (10 slot, 0.6 wt, giant-size, 100% WR) that would allow us make stuff on a go, kinda like collapsed containers. I know that there are trophys that cannot do this (smithing, pottery, brewing), but perhaps that will change (i see no reason for not having a portable still ingame, there are tons of those in RL). In any case, those few trophys can summon the generic bag we all know and love

And as people mentined, when someone buys high-end combines (PoP elemental armor for example) they usually want to see your trophy before they give you components.

it's certainly unsettling to the food items in question.

I'm at the point now of considerign wether or not to make multiple trophies. I'm leaning moderately heavy towards doing them all, as it kinda gives me the idea of "finishing" off a skill... although i already have my tailoring one at 239. As one of my guildmates said, it's certainly more cost effective just buying a geerlok, but then if we were cost effective people, the majority of us wouldn't be doing tradeskills anyway. It might be ego, it might be our last great act of deffiance towards the great evil RNG... the reasons are different for everyone, but i think the majority of us share the "if it can be made, we want to make it" position in general.
