  • A small warning...

Most of you already know this but I got bit with this so just to give a reminder more than a warning. I went to do some screaming shadow armors. I had my anvil and hammer in the forge, promptly went LD. Well, of course both being no drop when I returned, they were gone. I petitioned and hoping that they will replace it for me. Even with the shirt, it's a long, boring quest.

Lots of people been having problems opening doors and tradeskill containers apparently. Also had the same thing happen, and opening doors has gotten much worse. Doing transfers from one character to another crashed me out about 10 times today. Opening forges did it a couple more. Came about as close to LD as you can get when clicking combine on shadowscream today, thought I was going to die.

Be careful out there, people -- and lucky!

Might want to wait till a patch to try your most treasured combines, dunno. There are things even worse to lose than SS hammer and anvil.

Same thing happened to me. I have been petitioning for over a week and so far have not gotten the tools back. I guess I'll need to do the quests over. Good thing I saved my Bloodling Mail.

Crashed twice today myself while making Folded Sheets of HQ Ore, in the Bazaar (I know it's not smart to work there, but with 40+ bricks ... moving is definately best done in Bazaar). Lost my smithy hammer on the 2nd crash. No biggy, but definately annoying.

By the way, I had all items returned to me from the forge when I crashed but placed on my cursor, hence the reason I lost the Hammer, I think - when zoning, you are only left with 1 item on your cursor, everything else that was on your cursor before zoning is lost. And yes, I had a folded sheet on my cursor.

Got a petition in the wait though regarding the loss of a stack of Sea Foam that poofed during a Bazaar trade. I traded 5 stacks away, but the other only received 4 ...

you should use /bug and report this as a bug

per a patch message from sometime back, no-rent items in your inventory are supposed to stick around for 30 mins in the event of a link-death

and of course forges arent supposed to eat tools either

/bug is your best bet of getting the problems fixed (the devs at fan faire were adamant about how /petition /feedback and /report arent sources for what bugs to fix

/bug is your best friend if you want the devs to actually fix something (GMs and CS dont fix things, its not what they do)

There is most definitely a problem, and I recommend not doing transfers or tradeskills in bazaar until they fix it (which hopefully is now with the patch going on).

Last night, my husband and I were transferring items to one of our mules. I put 6 sickles up in the trade window, and he had 5 sickles showing in his (we sit right next to each other with the trade windows showing and could easily compare).

We also lost 4 smithy hammers, a stack of silk swatches, a breastplate, and some metal sheets this weekend during various transfers. Luckily, we have a great GM and she reimbursed us each time.

If you want to do transfers anyway, do the following:

              - click the items on the avatar of the person you trade to, do not just dump it in the Tradewindow
              - Before both people hit trade, verify that all items are present and both see the same things. If not, hit cancel (though I read elsewhere that this could also eat items ...)

The no rent will stick around. I was talking about no drop items. They fixed it so that people can not use forge, loom, oven, kiln or wheel to xfer a no drop item from one character to another. Of course at that time, there were very few no drop items you needed to use on these containers. Now, there are many items which are no drop for quest and tradeskills, I am worried about losing some of them. I would hate to use a loom for 6th shawl and go LD.

I'm somewhat relieved, at least. I thought I'd screwed something up.

A fellow lizard gave me a stack of ambers to imbue in the bazaar. I had one on the cursor, cast the spell...somehow 2 were on the cursor, one imbued and one not. At the end, I came up short one.

Fortunately, I had a couple on me so I just replaced it without saying anything to my 'customer'. I assumed I'd botched something.

That is a different "feature", Grenoble.

When you hold an imbued or enchanted item on your cursor and cast the imbue or enchant spell again, the item on your cursor gets replaced with the new one - hence you can only have one of a particular sort of item on your cursor at the same time (if you pick them up singly)

Works the same with foraging: if you have an item on your cursor and forage again, no matter how many times you forage the same item, you will only have one of them on your cursor.

Think I understand what you're saying... but in the end I had 19 imbued ambers, not 20. I wasn't recasting it on an already imbued amber. God, I'm having a hard time describing how it worked...must have coffee.

Picked one up. Imbued. Put in slot below ambers not imbued. Still one on my cursor. But somewhere...one disappeared. I didn't misplace in another bag.

Something was messed up, I remember wondering if it was bugged since it hasn't happened before.

Yes, you don't need to place one of the items on your cursor to imbue it, just cast, and it'll pull one from your inventory.

Getting LOTS of situations where I'm combining and suddenly same combine doesn't work -- DNC. Got it making spiderling silks into threads, using skinning knife to make MQ into LQ pelts, making shadowscream, making padding. Sometimes crash within a few minutes after.

Also -- I'll put this part up in the smithing section -- I am at 191 smithing and a couple days ago found shadowscream gorget(triv 228) were giving me messages that I could no longer increase my skill combining them. The boots still worked(triv 248). Today I tried the boots, and they didn't work. The bracers did work(triv 228). Went through a number of substances and shadows before I really noticed.

Crashing a whole lot, too. Game becoming kind of unplayable for long stretches.

Lost a spider silk on one crash, my skinning knife simply disappeared though I did not crash, etc. Thank goodness nothing big ... YET.

Oh, SAME foraged item. I've done that before, but gotten, say, a berries and then a #$%^ root. Clicking the berries to the berries stack has then shown the #$%^ root, but I suppose that makes a sort of flawed sense that, say, two #$%^ roots on the cursor would only be counted by the game as one #$%^ root (because we all know there are too many #$%^ roots in PoK). And also two imbued gems, etc.

I would therefore recommend not picking up a gem to imbue it. The only way I'd be able to remember whether or not I had just imbued something would be if there WERE a gem on my cursor. Otherwise, I'd be like, 'uh?'

Well, back to the original problem. It's been 6 days and I still don't have the hammer or anvil yet. The guide said he elevated the issue to the top, whatever that means. I can't do a thing without those in smithing and I have literally 8 stacks of shadow scream to combine. This really puts crimp in my tradeskills.
