I can't believe I'm still stuck at 199 pottery. It's like I'm being punished. I did casseroles from like 194 or 195 to 199, and that was *ok.* But now it WILL NOT MOVE. I've done stacks and stacks of Planar Steins and stacks of ceramic bands, but I cannot get to 200. All I want is 1 point, why is it so hard? I've even tried like opal steins, still nothing. I'm wasting 300-500+ plat per stack of attempts for nothing.

I'm concerned that the only thing I might be able to skill up on are Idols, but I didn't want the waste the rarer materials. :\

About a year (or so?) ago, during a patch, they openly said that they made it harder to skill up in pottery.

Being a rogue, this ticked me off.

I was working on poison vials, and would average 2-3 skillups per stack, then post patch, one skillup for every 2-3 stacks, and stayed that way.

All I can suggest is to get KEI'd up, and pray to whatever diety you pray to, and with for luck.

Sorry but I had to say it -- didn't already skill up in some other skill did you? So that you're locked at 200 no matter what until you get AA to get another past 200?

By the way I sold every single opal stein I made to get through that stage of pottery. If you can find a way to hold them till you sell them, it's really not too bad at all.

She's not trying to get over 200 though, she's trying to go from 199 to 200.

It only took me 2 steins to go from 199 to 200 on my druid, after that, it's been a real pita raising his pottery. 600 steins, 30 golden idols, 6 star ruby steins, and 4 everfrost portstone thingies to get 5 skill points.

If I were you I'd get 120 stein combines ready to go, then combine them all in one sitting, but camp to login screen after every 10 combines. This has worked very well for me in all past. The RNG is simply too messed up, and you seem a victim of it right now, try camping a lot.

Also, if I get a skill up at the start of a 10 combine run (like 1-3 combines), I camp immediately and come back to start the 10 again.

Not saying I have solved the RNG, but I have all but eliminated 100+ combine hell levels doing this.

Finally! I got that last point to 200. I really think there is something screwy about those stupid planar steins not giving skillups, but here's how I finally did it.

I'm foraging in EK for tea leaves, checking vendors, and happen upon a single heavy clay. I had no idea that they weren't that bad to get for myself, so I end up getting everything else and trading with someone for Kunzar glue and made myself a Crucible of Escape. I was so tickled with it that I wanted to make some for my guild sisters.

So after puttering around for a while this evening after the patch/update, I go farming, get exactly 6 heavy clays from muddites and hop back to PoK.

For the first couple successful combines I have the Geerlock sculpting tool on, only failed once. Then, I take it off and finish the rest of the clays off. On the 6th combine, a success, I hit 200 pottery! YAY! Perfectly rounding off my materials.

This point took a lot of cash and way over 100+ combines. Who knew that I could sit down and finish it with a few crucibles? Sheesh. Happy though.

Congratulations on your last pottery point. My druid went through several hundred combines each for his last two points to 199 on casserole dishes. I really wish Sony would make the liners stack. Anyway I was going to suggest making the Crucibles for your last point. They are very cheap to make if you don’t fire them. And, as you mentioned, the farming is not too bad depending on your level. My druid made a few but stopped because I hoped to fire the ones I had. It seemed like such a waste to drop them. Now I’m playing a shaman as my main and get to do it all over again. But the good news is my shaman has his Seb key and can fish up the Kunzar Koi for the firing process. In fact, he has almost a stack in the bank just waiting for his pottery to go up. If anyone else is thinking for fishing in Seb, all you have to do is jump off the bridge at the necro camp, the bridge right across from the exit, and you can fish in safety for as long as you like. There are no mobs in that spot whatsoever.
