  • Bug fix priority

    1) FD results in a the equivilent of a memblur - FD characters no longer have to worry about a mob half way across the zone running back and attacking them. >>>>>Helps players

    2) Aggro fix results in pets attacking party members. >>>>>Hurts players

    3) Pathing fix results in worse pathing in many areas and multiple PC deaths. >>>>>Hurts players

    4) Tradeskill combines getting random DNC messages or items in containers poofing. >>>>>Hurts players

So what was thier priority item to fix out of the three for the emergency patch?

    actually...

#1 did Hurt players... It made FD spliting of mobs imposible. If made Feign pulling very dificult.
so #1 was a split bag. Yes if you were using FD to escape... it helped... if you used FD to pull it Hurt...

you also didn't mention the INSANE agro that High damage hits were giving (All wizard DD spells = instant agro, Rogue Backstab = instant agro). HURT players... that was also fixed.

I mean, a tank could get a 100000 HP mob down to 10% health, a wizard hits for 1200 damage (tank just did 90000) the wizard sudenly gets agro.

Actually the FD bug made necros the king of pullers....I could pull everything that was snareable or rootable single every time.
I know that my guild's monks liked it too, took the tag team a while to get used to but they got us to Tallon Zek's room in record time before the patch so I dont think they had too much problem adapting....of course then Tallon crashed the zone on us hehe.

Ah. Guess it took some learning Though I could see necros (maybe SK's) having an advantage over monks with the change.

I saw the early complaints about the FD change as a NERF... I did not see later once after people learned how to use it.
It did bring up an idea for an upgrade to FD,

        Decaying Death.

you FD as normal then after a pulse or 2 (12 seconds?) you get turned invis with an agro whipe. I.E you instantly decayed to nothing... of course the mob would forget about you.

Of course that snare abuse of it could happen. But it makes a good escape version...

Also monks with that bio orb, the high end ones were kings of pulling too.

They would just blind one, fd, the blinded would run in random direction, go tag it.

Also not all mobs go back instantly on agro loss, some sit for random durations, so they could do their own tagging the moment one was out of range, and not waiting for it to get back to its 'home' etc.

This was a very fast learning curve for monks, and it did make them better pullers.

You'll never convince any monk exactly how it is correct for a mob that is half a zone away, and well out of sight, to suddenly sense the guy he thought was dead is now alive. I mean, c'mon... if it can see you, ok, but out of fargen sight?

Sorry, got on a rant there.

I didn't play mine during it, but monkly business had some very happy, and feeling useful for the first time since pop monks.

Oh, and Cigar you did forget to mention that they did actually fix something in the patch, any crit meant immediate summoning and death period to casters until they fixed it. I think that part of the patch was more than needed.

Actually snare and bind reset is how SKs pull mostly. So the change didn't add a new tactic, just made an old one easier.

LOL - you'll never convince a soloing SK either after he's been forced to FD his way across a zone to zone out due to the radar systems built into every mob and it's mom.

The emergency patch was because rez effects were broken. You would have the rez-fx debuff on the screen, but most of the time, none of your stats were red.

The official story is that it had something to do with folks going LD and staying 1018 for hours, but the game had them as logged in to a zone, and thus they cannot log back in.

I had that happen to me on a rez, just thought it was strange, and didn't think twice about it...

Figured the Cleric was Uber or something, but they couldn't explain why my stats weren't down as far as usual... they were down though, 60 str instead of 100 I think, or something similar.

Noticed the rez bug. First time I was hit with it, my stats dropped after a couple of seconds, so I figured it was just a fluke. Then after a later rez, I noticed my stats didn't change at all.
Another odd thing I had happen - I hit the 'Find Group' button to look for groups who needed an extra player, and after the search, I learned that I had over 45,000 (yes, you read that right) seconds until I could perform the next search...

Warrior friend went LD and started attacking me(blade of carnage -- yecch). Had to have group chanter mem blur him to get him to stop.
