  • Fail the trophy first thing in the morning, and...

There is an old saying, "Eat a live toad first thing in the morning, and nothing worse will happen to you all day."

Well, first thing when I logged on tonight, in bazaar, I found an Artisan's Seal for only 3750pp! Woo! Considering I'm new on server, and don't have any schmancy enchanter hookups, that's quite a deal (plus gets me past the nasty fails-in-kiln step). So, I buy it.

Hop on down to PoK with my spiffy little 250 baking self, knowing that I've already failed the darn thing twice (and we won't even talk about that, it's too depressing), put on my lucky armor, do my little dance, cross my fingers, toes, ask the serverwide chat for good wishes, pray to Innoruuk, hold the cat over my head with one hand, and click COMBINE with the other...

    And.

    Fail. Again.

Well, it's only 90% of my total assets down the drain, bah, who cares. At least I can go exp hunt, right? And if I get killed, I don't even care if I lose my level, it's not that bad compared to failing my trophy. In fact, NOTHING is that bad compared to failing my trophy. I thought. NOTHING WORSE can happen to me for the rest of the night! Nyah, nyah, RNG! Nyah, nyah, Innoruuk!

Y'all hear the lightning coming, don't you? So, not to keep you in suspense, what happened was.... I was in a little cross-server ;tell with someone that devolved into a friendly discussion/argument about one class being better than another, and I finally popped off a teasing response to this person something like the following (except that this is a highly edited version)...

"Tell you what, meet me in the Arena with a 55 gallon drum of pudding, we'll have a friendly naked wrestling match to decide it..." (ending with several PG-13 suggestions).

UNFORTUNATELY...this tell did not go to the person with whom I was having the argument. INSTEAD, it went to the level 1 SK who, unnoticed by me, had just asked for help getting some armor.

I have met the person who is encouraging all these beggars, and apparently it is ME!! Noooooo.....

    Nhinx, the mortally embarrassed
P.S. The SK had quite a sense of humor about it and was not offended. Thank goodness. Still no trophy, though...

I told you that trying to send tells to me while I was offline was a bad idea.

Next time wait until I am online, and you wont end up propositioning Beggar SKs.

      Okay kids...

Exactly what DO you two do when I am offline?

And how in the heck can I get in the match, or at least videotape it...?

You have quite enough, my friend.

As any regular on serverwide trader chat knows, some of the absolute best mistells come when a person hits /1 (or other number) instead of /g or /r. Makes for pretty enlivening conversation.

And then there are those of us who, for one reason or another, send our message to the intended channel, but forget to think before we type... *raises hand* I shudder everytime I wonder exactly what Farnyr has collected from screenshots...

                I am hella-guilty of that.

I sent to serverwide.eqtraders something horrid that I meant to send to a friend.

Sufficed to say, I heard Jaws dropping.

And even better, are the people who are trying to have....errr..... intimate moments with another person, and type /1 instead.

The channel seldom stop laughing when that happens.

I really gotta get in that channel more...

Maybe Hunting wurms or doing dumb shadowhaven quests would be more interesting with all that fodder in the back ground.

                  /join serverwide.eqtraders right?

                      So um...

Do you see "visitor" by my name somewhere I'm missing?

For that I'm gonna go on tonight, and ask for price checks, and skill up paths.

                      Me tonight, just for you:

/1 Can anyone tell me the recipe for a silk swatch?

Few sarcastic responses, leading to the website, then 1 guy says 2 spider silks unstacked.

/1 Thanks, how do I make it into a raw silk mask?

To be truthful, trader chat is one of the reasons I have stuck with tradeskills. It is also one of the highlights of my day. We try to entertain each other and be as helpful as our sarcastic natures allow (which sometimes means not very). Of course, you will get to meet an interesting cast of characters like Noishpa, The Hoppingest Hero Around... Frreddy Froglok!!!, Nhin, and several other posters to the site.

And of course, most important, I'll be there, no matter how much they try to get rid of me...

                            Two things:

                            1. I'm saddened that you didn't list me specifically. I'll have to work harder at annoying you tonight.

                            2. Just because we can't get rid of you doesn't mean we won't stop trying! Nyah, nyah.
