  • Random LoY deregistration.

i don't even know what i can say about this without violating the board rules. For the last month i've been LoY enabled. When i logged in today i was LoY enabled. I logged to change servers, and i was no longer LoY enabled. I went to chat and found a large number of other people with the same problem. I can't access my billing information through the EQlive site, there was no registration number given with the pre-order that i can re-enter, and no representative of SOE that i am able to contact will even acknowldege that there's a problem.

Did you try accessing your billing info thru the EQ client?

Well, I see Sony got that check I sent them.

        Nah, just fooling.

Hehe.... But seriously, that stinks. I'll have to check my LoY status when I log in after work.

        Good luck.

There is no billing info available through the game interface.
The options under the ACCOUNT tab are:
          NEW ACCOUNT
          CHANGE ACCOUNT
          END BILLING
          CANCEL

I have a charge on my credit card for $17.95 from SOE Station.
It's one thing to buy expansion after expansion unfinished and heavily bugged. It's another to buy the one expansion for which registration codes aren't given and have it randomly canceled with no way to reinstate it short of paying for it again
End Billing is looking like a better choice ever minute.

I would wager if you called Sony, with a copy of your credit card statement handy, they could reinstate it fairly quickly.

From something I saw posted, there was something run that was supposed to only "deflag" or "deregister" folks who had trouble with the billing. As in, not a valid card or something. Petition in game to get the lost items replaced. If you did indeed get billed, call them up and get it fixed. There is no reason to be paying twice for the expansion.

Billing info: www.everquest.com then click on the "my account" button at the top.

              Billing contact: accounts@soe.sony.com

This happened to my guildie. The GM told him he had to buy the expansion again.

Having a froglok character and a toon in Gunthak apparently counts for nothing.

I verified that I'm paid for LoY, so I'm working on getting it cleared up, let you know what works.

I haven't confirmed it yet, but it looks like mine was a random LoY download checkbox, um, unchecking. I'll be able to tell when I get a chance to log back in, but it was downloading some more LoY stuff after I rechecked it.

This also happened to a guildee- Apparently, a couple people's credit cards weren't valid, and SoE's payment software made a boo boo. A few people just got randomly un-registered due to this error, and it's been a small fiasco for Sony (at least, thats what tech support told him). What he did was delete the LoY zones (may have been some other stuff, but thats what he said) and gave a copy of his credit card statement to Sony. Then he re-downloaded the LoY stuff he had deleted and he was good to go. Sounds like the GM you talked to was just being a @#$@ (It's not unkown- I had a GM tell me that corpse timers ticking while you were offline was how it was supposed to work... the day before the patch that fixed it)

                      Hope this helps!

Me. Plan on being a Dryad and dabbling with a Dragon character.

Hopefully they resolve your LoY issues soon.

Well, i sucked it up, got out my card statement and made a toll call to tech support to fix a problem on their end.
i got LoY re-registered, but i'll be waiting for the CD to come out in the store next time. no more of this "buy online and we'll get you registered and the download everything automatically" for me. I'd like to have a CD key handy to re-register next time this happens, thankyouverymuch.
