  • No Bristlebane imbues for Bristlebane's race

Halflings are pretty fortunate to have a tailored item unique and wanted from their race (haversacks). There's nothing wrong or broken with vale tailoring, and we seem certainly better off than the wood elves, but I can't help but feel disappointed when I'm tailoring cultural plate armor I can't wear (which I know isn't a unique problem).

With the rumored doubling of possible items in EQ (from 32k to 64k), what are the chances of getting Bristlebane imbues for halfling cultural tailoring. Bristlebane himself is a halfling, and has hordes of halflings in his plane. Karana seems a good choice for tailoring since leather is more of a tailored thing, but why didn't they choose Bristlebane for chainwoven and steelweave armors? What's done is done, but if it's possible now and it wasn't before, they could add this with very little content developer time for some real boost to tailoring. Just some cut and pasting is all:

Stormreaper Chainwoven = Karana chain imbue
Mischievous Chainwoven = Bristlebane chain imbue
Stormreaper Steelweave = Karana plate imbue
Mischievous Steelweave = Bristlaben plate imbue

Same stats obviously. Could use the dark blue color like the mischievous plate. No "balancing" or anything needed.

The market for chain armor is very soft among most race/dieties. Bristlebane imbued chain would help bolster the chain market for all the halfling rogues. Bristlebane imbued plate would be a nice addition to the very small karana paladin market.

Why does an Iksar care anyhow? =P

Halfling Cultural was really inconsistant of them. If you look at other races, their imbued armor typically falls in line with what their priest classes worship. High Elf Clerics can only worship Tunare, thus Full Mithril can only be imbued for Tunare despite the fact of High Elf casters have 5 religious choices. Human Clerics can worship just about any god, thus Heraldic can be imbued for just about every god. I believe every cultural follows this example.

Halfling is the exception. However, Halfling is sort of odd religiously. In every case, but Halflings, the Paladins must choose from a religion that their Clerics also can choose. For example, Erudite Clerics can choose from Prexus, Quellious and Cazic Thule, and Erudite Paladins can choose between Prexus and Quellious.

For some odd reason though, when Paladins were added to the Halfling race, Verant decided that Paladins shouldn't be able to worship Bristlebane and they made them worship Karana instead (along with the Druids).

Oddly enough, Halflings got to make armor for Karana Paladins and Warriors while Dwarves got to make the Bristlebane armor despite the fact that they don't even have any plate classes that can worship Bristlebane.

IMO they should've just let Halflings craft the Mischievous Plate (or Steelweave) instead of Dwarves. It sort of goes against cultural armor when you are making stuff your culture can't even wear IMO. . .

      Just as a side-note...

Humans can't Imbue for Rallos. The only healers who can follow Rallos are Troll & Ogre Shamans.

So now why can Humans make Rallos-Imbued armour?

However, Bristlebane is the progenitor of the halfling race.

            But
Mithaniel and Erolisi Marr created the Barbarians.
Humans are an offshoot of Barbarian race.
Erudites are an offshoot of the Human race.

            Tunare created all Elves.
Wood Elves and High Elves split at some point, probably not long after the formation of Elven Society. (Warrior/Farmer/Scout castes became Wood Elves, Leadership/Priest/Intelectual castes became High Elves)
Dark Elves are the result of Inorruuk's coruption of a King and Queen of the Elves

Cazic Thule created Trolls and Iksar

Rallos Zek created Ogres (and Giants)

Brell Serillis created Dwarves and Gnomes (and goblins, gnolls, and all other races native to the underground.)

(Veeshan created Dragons and dragonkin, but these are not playable races, so really don't figure into the arguement.)

So, is it silly that gnomes and Halflings can't create armor imbued for Bristlebane even though theirs are the only clerics who worship him? Yes.

Is the arguement that bristlebane created them, therefore they should be able to make armor imbued to him valid? Well, maybe, but this case is not supported by relation to other races. Otherwise noone would be able to imbue for The Tribunal, Karana, Rodcet Nife, Bertoxxulis, or Solusek Ro.

Goblins are Rallos' creatures. Gnolls, them I can handle as cousins, the ones who haven't turned to Bertox are nice enough folks, but not goblins...

Readread your Manual. The pickclaw goblins clain Brell Serilis as their creator. But if you're a Dwarf, then you're playing true to form. :P
(by the way, everything living in The Hole falls within Brell's sphere of influence as well, through Master Yael.

Well I'll be... My manual only lists dwaves and gnolls under the Brell entry, but if you go to the gods page on eqlive, sure enough, there's the Runney Eye clan...

Pfah, since when can goblins be trusted to maintain their own histories anyway. I'm happy to hear of their conversion to Father Brell, but that doesn't mean he created goblins.

Verant has never really been too clear on Goblins. They always say that goblins "claim" Brell as their creator, but have never said that was true or not, if I recall.

                        >>Cazic Thule created Trolls and Iksar

Not necessarily true for the Iksar. They all worship CT and are extremely fanatical about it, but that doesn't mean CT created them. They could well be an experiment by the Shissar. Ikky history starts as being slaves to them.

How Iksar worship CT is a lot different than trolls as well. Trolls are about fearing anything thats bigger and inspiring fear in anything wimpier. The Iksar religion is about facing one's fear and limits so as to be able to conquer the fear and expand the limits. That which does not kill me makes me stronger, in other words.

Got to admit that the Iksar religion is my favorite one in the game. The troll one, on the other hand, is one of the lamest. Which is why my troll follows Inny.
