  • Pottery Skill Up Observations, Odd Point Penalty

I have been researching the difficulty of skilling up in pottery. It took me 153 combines to go from 203 to 204, and only seven combines to go from 204 to 205.

Have you experienced the same? Please give your comments and observations. Thank you.

    Sincerely,

That can happen in any tradeskill. You can go 300 combines between a skill up and then get 2 in a row. That is the RNG (Random Number Generator) for you.

The range from 188 to 220 (or so) are the "hell levels" of all Tradeskills. Not every point is super-difficult to get (as you experienced), but overall that range is a real pain for anyone doing any Tradeskill.

Pottery was over-nerfed to the point of making people give up, the same for archery. Nothing is going to change until Verant decides they went too far, which should take about a year.

Yup, starting at about 180 it takes a painful number of combines to get anywhere.

Oddly enough folks have said that 188 is the major turning point and yet for fletching, brewing, and JC recently it took me FAR more combines to go from 184 to 188 than it did to go from 188 to 192...
It's all a matter of dumb luck with the RNG.
