Because they don't stack until fired? Fortunately, I don't use 'em much. One off for a nonstick frying pan... and unless you're going heavy into poisons, that's about it...

Yes, CE's need to find a way to increase yield, however I don't see a viable way of doing it without breaking things. Mixing bowls are only a 4 slot container, after all. Now if you could get a 10 slot container, you could do a 5X return, theoretically...

Or they could find another component to give a better yield ratio, like adding the concentrated solvent. Maybe find an alchemy component with about the right cost, and have it be 1 component + 3 concentrated solvents = 9 CEs?

EDIT: I just browsed the supplies list for a second, and "Mystic Ash" sells from most cities' alchemy vendors, stacks to 20, and costs about 12 plat per. 9 Scent of Marrs would be about 13.5 plat, so you save about 1.5 plat per 9, and get the combine in bulk.

I could have sworn ceramic linings stack in both fired and unfired forms now. This was changed several years back. I'll have to check in-game when I get home.

My dad paid me 30 bucks one weekend when I was 17 a looong time ago to take his smither from 0 to when banded triv'd before it was changed ( I think it would hit somewhere in the 160 range). I actually took his chatacter and mine to that level that same weekend - hello carpal tunnel

I don't particularly like CE's and ceramic lining is a good candidate too but for me the most annoying ones are the GoD weapon's subcombines.

It just seems like I can't get it right the first time and nothing annoys me as much as when I do something stupid that was entirely avoidable.

Like the other day when I wanted to make a piercer for my baby shaman. First try I ended up with a two-handed piercer not the dagger I wanted. I made the one I wanted on the second try only to realize it was not usable by a shaman. Finally made the right item on the third try.

Something like this always seems to happen when I'm doing these weapons and of course I end up running around AS like a madman because I need new subcombines that don't stack.

What's also fun is doing your fletching master trophy, and trying to convert the chunk of taelosian rock into a stone so you can make serrated arrowheads, get the 'you have learned' message but no stone. What the heck?!? In a different window is the little message: you don't know how to work this item. !#$% off to abby sea to turn the thing in to get two stones...

I know that asking for logic in EQ is dumb but if you stack unfired pottery stuff you end up with a big lump of formless clay imo

Actually, you dry everything before you fire it because water expanding when heat applied=broken pot(and probably a few pots around it)..but we don't need a separate drying step .

See..what you would need to do is make all pottery wheel combines make evolving items. Then make a script that evolves them based on the passage of time. Then let only the final evolved item work in a kiln combine.

CE's aren't that bad to me. I nominate all that **** steel conversion for making AAAAs are teh most annoying. If it wasn't for the mind-numbing smithing I'd have kept making them after maxing my trophy.
