  • Artisans Charm Aug?

So I made my Artisans charm last night, and was wondering what would be the best augs to apply to it.

My old charm i had a slipgear and Ldon charm. But as id never really done Ldons it had no stats, i just used it for the free ports.

Should I go for Slipgear and Wanderlust augs. I think as a rogue with SOS i should be able to get through that in a doddle.

Im an unguilded, baz equiped casual playing 70 rogue.

    Your thoughts appreciated.

I use the Wanderlust Guild Loadstone. Anyone can do the first 16 steps solo. A rogue might be able to do all 18. I'm not sure.

After step 16, the aug is 7 AC, 11 all stats, 48 HP/mana, 7 all resists.

After step 18, it is 12 AC, 18 all stats, 75 HP/mana, 12 all resists.

If those stats are upgrades to you, look into the quest.

Also, you don't need to carry the Adventurer's Stone with you for ports with the LDON magus. You got a character flag with the Adventurer's Stone when you first did the quest, and it is the character flag that the magus checks to see if she will port you or not.

I have completed the Wanderlust charm up to Ashengate. I bit it a couple times in FC but was able to hit the spots in the zone before I did, and none of this quest required any fighting. It's a LOT of running around but I recommend it as well.

A word of caution on the Wanderlust aug quest.

        It's great.

It's also level-limited. If you attempt Frostcrypt (for instance) at level 74 (as I did) the quest NPC will NOT give you the quest, demanding that you be level 75.

So as the second to last is level 75 required some other earlier quests might be level required as well.

Also, in FC at least, you will need Invis Vs. Undead (well, I don't play a rogue so maybe they have a way around undead mobs) and my understanding is there is a mix of regular, see invis (2) and undead in Ashengate.

But Artisan + full Slipgear + full Wanderlust seems to be the best charm set out there.
In My (Not Always) Humble Opinion, except where I quote someone. If I don't know I say so.
I suck at this game, your mileage WILL vary. My path is probably NON-optimal.

To my knowledge, EVERYTHING in Ashengate sees all types of invis, including rogue SoS. You'll have to fight your way in for that step.

I believe, though I'm not 100% sure, that nothing in Frostcrypt sees IVU for the areas you need to pass through for Wanderlust, except maybe for the odd wandering named. I've been able to get around FC pretty easily with IVU, even after the changes that supposedly made some mobs see through IVU. Potions are available for those who don't get fixed IVU.

Slipgear and Wanderlust are the 2 I'm using. I'm stuck right now on the Valdeholm "tower" part until I get some friends out there to help me out. Too many see-invis mobs on the way in there.

But even at the stage I'm at (about 60% done), it was better than my LDoN one. My current stats on it -

            Wanderlust Guild Loadstone
MAGIC ITEM LORE ITEM PENDING LORE NO TRADE AUGMENTATION
            Augmentation Type: 7, 8
            WT: 0 Size:TINY
            AC: 6
            STR: +9 DEX: +9 STA: +9 CHA: +9 Wis: +9 INT: +9 AGI: +9 HP: +41 MANA: +41 Endurance: +41 SV FIRE: +6 SV DISEASE: +6 SV COLD: +6 SV MAGIC: +6 SV POISON: +6

And my Artisan Charm is over 300hp/mana now.

I assume you are speaking of the adverturers stone in the firs post here, as long as you have done the quest you can use the magus and do not need the stone in inventory, heck I dont even think you need to keep the stone but dont hold me to this.

You can safely destroy the adventurer's stone you get from the LDoN NPC's. You can get another one at any time just by hailing one of the NPC's in any LDoN camp. I'm working on my LDoN aug now, and each time I get a new bit of info (that powers up the charm), I have to destroy the aug they hand me all over again.

I had no trouble doing the whole Frostcrypt stage with Invis Undead. I might have gotten lucky.

I died twice finishing the Vald stage but it was worth it.

Still haven't gotten around to the Ashengate step.

I can tell you that only some named mobs see SOS in Ashengate, and most of them are negotiable. I completed Ashengate and had a blast exploring areas that I will likely not fight in until our guild raids here. I have yet to be part of a group that can get past the griffin trainer, and the left wing is positively evil for single groups.

Frostcrypt is pretty simple for a rogue with SOS, as I have yet to find a named here that sees SOS who is spawned and in the way of the trigger points.

I have done Valdeholm on 2 different characters, and didn't have any see invis for either tower. Generally when a zone has random see invis, just wait until the server/zone has been up a few days and you won't find see invis. Say for example 10% of the mobs pop with the ability to see invis. In the first week or so any see invis in heavily traveled areas probably aggroed on a group and were killed. When they re pop, only 10% of the re pops will see invis, and since people tend to avoid killing stuff while they are traveling if they can, most of the ones that didn't see invis on the first pop are left alive. So start with 100 mobs, 10 will see invis. Those 10 nuisance mobs are killed, along with 10 "safe" mobs that added. Of those 20 killed, only 2 re pop as see invis.

As an alternative for the towers however.. you can make a mad dash to the top of the tower, get the update, and run off the top and out to the zone (a shroud with DA would work). The mobs will path the normal way down the tower and through the zone, so its an easy run once you get to the top. Make sure of course that there are no players anywhere your train might go.
