At this particular moment, i want to scream my head off. im 298 fletching and guess what. I have done OVER 400 combines with NO skill up, generaly 100 at a time. omg 400. now tell me thats not nuts. ive done trivials of 400, ive done trivials of 302 and many man in between. i do not use the gearlok etc. its getting to a point where i think my skill ups are broken, i dont see how u can get over 400 with 0 skill ups. thats pretty nuts.

Sounds like your RNG is broke.

I've taken 2 different non-cultural arrow Master Artisans from 282-300 off PoR bows so far, and yeah there were some **** long streaks w/o skillups, but I've never gone 400+ w/o a skillup on anyone in any skill.

Was your 400 combines including BOTH making laminated staves AND then stringing them? (200 of each) .... because there MAY be some form of hidden skillup reduction on the stringing portion.

As I stated above, I've taken 2 chars from 282-300 on PoR bows ... and the one thing I definately noticed was that the majority of my skillups came from actually making the laminated bowstaffs, instead of the stringing portion. (like 5:1 iirc).

I did over 100 oak treant laminate recurve bow staffs then did the combine for oak treant laminate recurve bows. both over 300 trivials. for a total of over 200 combines.
I did also 100 supple treant laminate recurve bow staffs then did the combines for the supple treant laminate compound bow. for a total of over 200 combines
also ive made 15 composite treant laminated compound bows. plus misc 1 cam bows etc. heck thats well over 400 combines.

again they were in 2 or 3 sessions. if the rng is broken how the heck to i fix it.

sadly this is not the worst skill run I've heard of. I do sympathize with your pain though... I've passed the 200+ mark on the last 6 points of JC myself... and at the cost for that level, I gave up.. only do aug cuts and stuff now... I don't try for those last skill ups.. just not worth the pain to my brain.

Completely agree with you on this after approx 150 combines and 0 skillups for my last 9 skillups to 300 in JC I ahve given up too, it's not worth the money for me at all, prefer getting my other skills to 300 first

180-182 took me 400 combines in pottery..

REALLY made me mad .. cause I have never had 200 combine skillups before this early (i think I have had like 150 combine skillups from 199 to 200 before, but thats about max)..

Then again, pottery always was a pain (not knowing the recipe, and having to "discover" it to autocombine.. to start out pottery.. took me 200 combines, of which i got i think 5 skillups. and this is at a skill of 0 :P)

I do this when I need a group also. I can look for a group for hours, get bored decided to get some points in a skill. Get up enough for a run of 200+ combines an as soon as I step up to a tradeskill container. BAM group invite.

However I definately feel the OP's pain. On brewing it took me 398 combines to get from 193 to 194. However I'm usually at extremes in this. I'll either make it really fast, or really slow. I never hit the averages.

Agree - it's a new addition to Murphy's Law which is both exciting and irritating at the same time. I was elated to get the last 2 skillup points within 2 minutes of each other to ding 300 after spending a week without a skillup, followed by the irritation of having 3 backpacks full of supplies I just spent hours creating for "the grind". Bright side - made one happy guildie when I gave them all the sub-combine parts!

Yeah, don't feel bad, in my last 12 points of jewelcraft I had 8 runs of over 100+, and 4 with 200+.. worst was just over 400 =(

Left me with no money I hoped to have for other tradeskills =(
