I have over 600 blue diamonds on a mule but I have been buying them forever. Someone "could" have unloaded a gem mule(I have about 4000 gems total on my mules, I rarely sell any gems I loot and I buy all diamonds/blue diamonds I see on vendors). So it may NOT be a dup issue it could possibely be someone selling their stuff cause they are quitting. NOW if 5-6 people have over 1000 blue diamonds then yes something funny may be going on but do not think just because 1 person is sellling a load of gems that there is a problem. TSS drops gems quite frequently. I get 5-6 blue diamonds a night from killing mobs and most nights I am soloing. A group could get 10-20 a night with the many more kills they do.

I see 100's of black sapphires on vendors all the time so they are being looted and sold to vendors. If BS's are so could other gems.

If it was only on one server, I'd agree it could be someone with a large hoard, dumping them for whatever reason. BUT, this is happening on more than one server. Also, there's no reason to keep that many Flawless Diamonds (only need a few for Velious quests, and those are passe, in any case) and Serpent Spine Diamonds (no known use, for quest or tradeskills)

Definetly seems like something is up, but I have noticed that BD's drop way more often in TSS zones than any other place I've been before. My group gets about 5+ a night. But for the other gems to show up too, that's makes me think something is not right with the vendors.

Well it is nice to see that at least SOE is aware of the problem. Hopefully they can find out what is causing it and fix it before it totally screws up the economy. I knew something was fishy when every NPC merchant had between 50 and 150 of each of those diamonds that drop from different expansions. It clearly indicated someone was trying to spread around the evidence so that it would not be noticed, but by doing that it made me notice there was a problem since I go to every merchant when I am vendordiving.

yes, there is definatly a bug. I have a 24/7 buyer that ive had up since buyers were allowed.
I would often get up to 20, once in a blue moon id get more than that, but seldom more than 2 or 3 hundred a month. in the last 24 hours ive purchased over 800. they are ALWAYS sold to me in quantities of 124 to 126. so what ever that bug is there must be 120 or more duplicated at exploited at a time.
Unfortionatly in trying to find how to get sony to investigate this i have come up with roadblocks.
1. HOW THE HECK do you report it. they have so many different /bug etc things but without leading them by the hand im not sure how to get them to investigate it.
2. unfortionatly ive had to get other things off my buyer so only have the most recent person that purchased things off of him. DOES sony have any way to pull up all my records from the morning og the 28th till now the evening of the 29th to see ALL the different names that have sold me those quantities of diamonds??
3. and who can i talk to that will take me serious and realy investigate this. one of the people that sold me these diamonds is in a reputable guild, i know that if they speak with this person they can find out what his exploit was. I pulled up the persons location right after the incident and he was in dragon necropolis. so wondering if something there may be whats causing the duplication

any ideas let me know, im a legit trader and tradeskiller and i DESPISE cheats.

in your EQ file you have a folder titled LOGS... it keeps track in there of all things your trader sells, or buys... may take a while to slog through all the junk parts, but if you start at the bottom and work up it might be faster to find the info you want.

Remember, it is very likely that person just found the gems on a vendor, just like the other people in this thread. If I found a vendor with a few hundred blue diamonds, and there were buyers up in the bazaar willing to buy them for more than npc price, the chances are VERY good I would be selling a few hundred diamonds to buyers, with no exploiting on my part at all.

Yep, i agree. thats why if sony has the names. they could use them to investigate where they got them, if off a vendor then block that vendor, or if they were all in the same zone killing ( 240 of them i purchased within 5 minutes from 2 different people then another 120 from someone else 5 minutes later ). then thats a lead possibly of where the exploit might be. i would have thought maybe they were purchased off a vendor also. but the amounts actualy sold to my vendor were exactly the same for each sale.

Checked RV on Bertox earlier, took me a few merchants and several guard-slaughters (learned sometin funny tho, Deputy Cheel is a healer :P)

merchants next to zonein/ in bank.. nothing..
snuck into the rogue guild area .. merchants had 100-200 raw diamonds / black sapphires and such ..

I have been chacking vendors in city towns since this came to light and last night I went to several on Fennin ro and Either postings here have caused some kind of "Gold Rush" or a lot of people are trying to remove the evidence Not one Blue diamond on vendors in Rivervale. Black Saphires, Jacinths, raw diamonds yes but no blue diamonds or diamonds. This is getting wierd. Don't know if the gems are being duped or what, but it is definately wierd.

They are definitely aware of it, and want to fix it ASAP, but they need help in tracking it down. So if you figure it out (hear it on the wind) then shoot Ngreth or Kytherea a PM with step by step instructions.

hmm, why not do a quick check of the bazaars. on pover theres a seller with 750 blue diamonds and another with 283. ive been here since the bazaar started and NEVER saw more than 200 or so. so check that trader out and look at their history over the last few days, see what zones and quests theyve done etc.

Or more likely, who sold their /barter bot 700 blue diamonds.

The net gets pretty wide pretty fast and whoever is doing it obviously made some intentional effort to make it so and thus make it difficult to track.

Well that seller would be me. Unfortunately I like everyone else thought I had hit the jackpot in Thurgadin. I thought someone was selling their JCing stash and it was my lucky day. However after being alerted to this by a fellow trader in tells tonight, I have since removed my BDs from my trader and will await an answer regarding this situation by Sony before trying to sell them again. I did NOT dupe anything, I bought them off vendors like many others. <sigh> Apparently it wasn't my lucky day after all.
