questions about iksar and plate armors

Hey all,
my main character on prexus is currently a 58 ranger. i'm thinking of starting a iksar shadowknight alt. i'm trying to figure out how to gear him with some moderate gear so he could survive before i can get a set of cultural gear for him. i'm almost at the point where i can make fine plate on my ranger. just wondering if he'll still get the racial ac bonus if he has regular fine plate on.

a friend suggested i form a group and head to any of the ldon sights and just forage up the items for temper's for the ldon plate or chain armors.

just wondering what armors will work with the iksar racial ac bonus ?

Iksar in the original concept couldn't wear plate armor at all. In particular, they certainly can't wear fine plate armor. That's why they got a racial ac bonus in the first place. Nowadays that's generally ignored in itemization. AFAIK however, the racial ac bonus is not contingent on anything.... its always on.

I've a friend who's got an Iksar SK equipped in a mix of frosted and gothic - and yes, the inherent AC bonus still applies.
