  • Accidentally destroyed TS trophies

I accidentally destroyed a bag containing two fully maxed GM tradeskill trophies. Is /petition my only recourse? Or is the trophy process smart enough to replace my items if I ask politely? Lost JC and Baking....not looking forward to doing them again and wondered if anyone else had this misfortune but resolved it successfully.

If you make a polite /petition stating the facts that you accidently deleted a bag containing the trophies they will be able to check the server log to see what exactly was deleted and so should be able to refund the items.

Even if they say no at first remember to be persistan but polite. Most of the GMs have made mistakes too and are likely to reimburse mistakes.

I once deleted 3 bags of the tinkerers full of imbued emeralds because they were summoned norent GM bags (old). In my plight I petitioned and they were happy to reimburse them because they could verify their existance int he first place.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

My brother got his roboboar reimbursed today. He deleted it last may I think.

I have also had an item reimbursed that I accidently deleted.

You will get a lengthy speech about being more careful with your items but there shouldn't be a problem if you petition it.

And no. The system does not check to see if you have done it before (I do not think I even have that flag set...) soo... you would have to do it again. And it would start with base progress. As it is, there is no way to avoid this (see bellow)

They are not made of trophies you know!

You can attempt to petition... but they tend to give players the incorrect item... you need a beginners trophy and a master certificate... otherwise if they just give you the master trophy, it will not evolve. By deleting it, you also deleted any stored information on how much progress you have made and this information is NOT loged, so they will not be able to restore any progress you have made. If they were already level 7 (the named item) then it is fine to just receive that as it does not evolve further anyway (though if I ever advance trophies... and add more levels... this refunded item would also be broken and not evolve :/ At this time there are no direct plans for this, but I am also not ruling it out.)

              LOL, Ngreth is evil. =)

As a way to get around the "future evolution" problem for accidentally-destroyed level 7 trophies, perhaps you could create a certificate that gives the trophy enough exp to jump directly to level 7? Then GM's could return that certificate and a beginner's trophy. There wouldn't be a way to get that certificate in-game, of course, unless you ever move the tradeskill cap and create new trophy quests.

I'm not so sure about this actually. Some months back I dropped by mistake a whole bag of tinker items, coiled springs, joint and a stack of blue diamonds in Ak'Ahon and a sweeper rat walked by and picked it up. I petitioned and got the "sorry we can give you back your bag but we cannot see whats in it so you won't get that back" i was furious! 8K worth of diamonds and god knows how much of tinker items :-((

Since then I check and double check before I delete any bags to make sure nothing is in them

I believe that is a difference in the code difference between dropping an item and deleting an item. I know for fact that if you delete a bag it has to delete the items inside it too which is summarily captured in the server log. If a bag is dropped I would only guess that the server doesn't capture its contents based on that GM reply.

Sorry it didn't work out in the end

Oh well just means it take a little longer to skillup
