Rant re: Elixir of Concentration/Greater Concentration

I MYSELF USED TO MAKE THESE POTIONS.. SINCE PoR CAME OUT THAT RECIPE HAS DISAPPEARED AND THEY GAVE US THE NERF MANA POOL STORAGE POTION... IT CAN NO LONGER BE MADE... I MYSELF AND ABOUT A ZILLION CASTERS WOULD LOVE TO HAVE THAT POTION BACK IN GAME..
IT WAS STACKABLE W/ALL FORMS OF KEI ... I AM NOT VERY HAPPY ABOUT IT... I WAS TOLD THRU CHANNEL CHAT RingOfAllies on quellious server to make a post concerning said potion.. Being that the creator of the recipes pays attention to the posts made in referance to recipes.. IT IS MY WISH TO HAVE THE POTION ELIXER OF GREATER CONCENTRATION REINSERTED RECIPE WISE BACK INTO GAME MANA REGEN IS WAY BETTER THAN SOME NERFED Mana pool storage potion ... AND YES THE GREATER ELIXER OF CONCENTRATION DOES STACK W/ CLARITY X POTIONS SO PLS STOP THE BULL REINSERT THE RECIPE BACK IN TO PLAY... I HAVE SENT /FEEDBACK AND EVEN PETITIONED IN GAME FOR THIS RECIPE.. FYI I NEVER PROFIT FROM MY POTION MAKINGS I ONLY ASK FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF INGREDS... IN MY GUILD ALL CASTERS WOULD LIKE THE ELIXER OF GREATER CONCENTRATION BACK YES MANY A CLERIC DEPEND ON THAT POTION!!!! WHEN YOUR STUCK BEING HEALER /SLOWER/DOTTER THAT POTION REALLY HELPS IN A TIGHT SPOT... I AM SURE THAT NO-ONE WILL ARGUE MY POINT... Ngreth has said he'll look at re-introducing these or equivalent at some point in the future, but those potions are going to become a lot less relevent for many people Real Soon Now.

Took 2 posts in Alchemy forum threads (and the various associated responses) and merged them into this one rant.

Addtionally - this sort of thing really belongs on Sony's message boards, not here. Demands for attention or changes to the game aren't meant to go here.

Screaming, i.e. all caps, is RARELY the correct way to get attention. If you need a primer on net-iquette I'm sure you can find one, I'd advise doing so, right now.

Additionally, as Lothay pointed out, this is not the proper place to bring "fix this" demands. (Where such demands go properly is /dev/null ... but in lieu of that the "official forums" on sony bandwidth is the best place.)

These potions are great. They are one of the most precious resources I've seen since the PoR-Alchemy-revamp. I know someone who's got a couple. They guard them like they would a small new kitten.

In general most people find that the PoR-Alchemy is superior, overall, to the old alchemy. There were some losses, but the gains offset them.

Calm down. Request that "stacks with KEI" crack potions be added at some future date. Explain that they existed before and didn't break the game so they shouldn't be overly bad if properly tuned.

And lastly there is the thought that "downtime mana regen" issues with the release of Serpent (now scheduled for less than a month from now) will make mana regen issues less prevalent.

Sentences, white-space, proper emphasis, grammar, spelling, forethought, clearly-defined opinions... these are the way of the force.

Anger, hatered (hatred ? no, I can't speal), fear, spouting-off, ALLCAPS... these are the ways of the Dark Side. Faster, easier they are... not better.

Scan: they are upset that Greater Concentration (which sticks with KEI line) can't be made any more. Yeah, that does in fact suck.
Reply: Well most PoR potions are much better so it's a compromise, just request it be added back in.

The "i pay so I should get what i want, now gimme" arguement has never worked. Seriously, you look foolish even saying it outloud to yourself. Stop.

You -petitioned- for a recipe to be replaced? What exactly did you think they were going to say?

SOE responds to /feedback. Politely worded statements about tradeskills and issues get read by the Community Coorespondent, occasionally by Devs, and sometimes by Ngreth. As with any prayer to the gods, sometimes /feedback gets the answer of "No." Or at least "not at this time." But I've never heard of a non-game-stability issue responding to /feedback in under a day.

Potions are supposed to supplement, not replace, essential character dependancies. If potions completely replaced the need for enchanters... there wouldn't be enchanters. I assure you that if clerics suddenly got mage-summoned methods of slowing the alchemy channels would become positively consumed with flames. You have crack and mana pool potions. KEI is crack+mana pool. Already having "enchanter in a bottle" should reduce the "demand" for even better potions. I'm a retired-enchanter / new-main-cleric. I carry the Clarity X potions all the time. I buy them "by the case" (200 or so at a time) and keep them in the bank, for myself and anyone else that runs out of crack. I admit that I love Greater Concentration and would love to see it back. But not being able to make more of it doesn't mean the games broken or alchemists got the short straw by any means.

Even without any downtime changes greater concentration potions are minor. They are mostly a placebo that make you think you are regenerating mana faster.

Base mana regen at 65+ 3/tic (22/tic if you can sit)

That's 100/tic (119 on a horse or just sitting)
That doesn't include mana regen clicky items, necro or sk group mana tap recourses, or any class specific self buffs.
Greater Concentration 3/tic
So even if you only have access to half of the available group mana regen (sitting on a horse with KEI, Oak, and FT 15) Greater concentration only adds 5% more.
And of course, the enchanter dot/tap, necro group mana taps, and mage pet siphons all overwrite Greater Concentration, because it does not actually stack with everything.
