  • PoR Smithing Trophy GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Ok, my tradeskill character is a level 14 (now) Human Druid of Karana. He was specifically made to make version1 cultural armor for my Paladin. I finally get back into the game after a year plus layoff and decide to go about smithing again. =)

Things are moving along well. I buy Titanium to get nearly caught up on expansions and download PoR so I can do the trophy quests.

Smithing is at 188 currently so I get a Freshman task. I race through, mostly in PoK, until I get to the Platinum Spear. I log on my Bard to acquire allied ore. Get back to the Druid and I CAN'T WORK THE METAL!! Apparently I have to complete some GoD quest that has me going to a LEVEL 55 ZONE!!! At LEVEL 14!!!!!

I guess I am seriously hosed once again! Oh, to make matters worse. To complete that quest I am going to need a baking skill in the mid 100s! (Currently at 32 after finding out last night).

Are there any more nasty suprises?

Do I even have a chance to complete the GoD quest?

Fear not, it really isn't that bad.

The quest to refine GoD materials comes in two flavors. One requires you to collect drops from GoD zones, but the other (the 'freebie' version) you only have to do combines, for which all the ingredients are provided. It's long and tedious, but it only costs time and anyone can do it.

Also, you don't have to refine it yourself. Each tradeskill has an NPC that will do the refine for you, at a rate of two refined materials for each raw item handed in. (Doing it yourself, you would eventually reach a rate of 3 for 1.) If you're only intending to refine the ore for this quest, it might make more sense to do it this way and forget about the rest. Note that I think you have to be level 16 to go to Abysmal Sea, since the only way to get there is through Wayfarer Magi.

And finally, you can always buy the refined metal in the bazaar or ask around to see if someone would do it for you. What server are you on?

Actually you can get the blade kit and the hilt kit alot of times in bazaar so you'll only need to do the final combine

Also true, though the prices I've seen people asking for those are so obscene they make an honest ranger blush. Hopefully other servers are better.

Actually there are two other ways both of which require going thru Jagged Pine. The First is thru Blackburrow < i do this one it is quicker > then go to Nedaria's Landing and run to Magus at Wayfarer Camp there you magus to Abysmal Sea and magus back retracing to get back home. The other way is thru Surefalls Glade in the tunnels, but this one you will have to run across or around JP to get to the Gnoll < beta neutral > Tunnels. I have taken level 1's there and if you let me know which server I will make a toon and show you the way.

Side note Cloudy potion works for the Blackburrow part or sneak/hide.

BTW the Magus in Nedaria and Abysmal sea are the only two who will port a level 1...Have not tried to go to natimbi might have to just for fun...lol

What makes a man a man? A friend of mine once wondered. Is it his origins? The way he comes to life? I don't think so. It's the choices he makes. Not how he starts things, but how he decides to end them.John Myer~Hellboy 2004

Leaflent, the level 14 Human Druid of Karana, is on Cazic Thule. I don't always play nor do I always play him. If you are so inclined, look for one of the following . . .. . .

            Nevare
            Fortissimo
            Ordroxal
            Gronko

So the Magus in the Guild Lobby won't port you if you haven't done the LDoN quest?

Considering how non-used LDoN is, and that I really don't bother playing anything but my Paladin & Cleric, I've never needed to use the Magus' with any of my other characters... so I've never tried.
