  • Utter disgust with PoP brewing.. specifically the lack of

I brew for fun, I brew for myself, and I brew for my guild...

And I am utterly disgusted by the complete lack of virtually ANY beneficial PoP Brewing recipes. I look at brewing's sister tradeskill (Baking) and see tons of new recipes for what could only be described as sought after and marketable wares. Things like

    Tormentor Stir Fry
    Hero Sandwiches(etc)
    Justice Fruit Pies
    Hobgoblin Surprise

and more. Where are comparable brewing type recipes and products? All we got was a lame duck double kaladim constitutional and a bunch of tempers. Where is the equality and fun in that? I have run around and checked every vendor i could find seeking recipes for stat enhancing PoP drinks and have yet to come across anything that has come to my attention. Are we supposed to be content with QAT, SFRTJ, Grobb, and Kaladim as our only marketable non-special order type items?

I am very disheartened about this and I don't want to spend valuable aa points so i can take my 198 baking up to 250. Why was brewing so obviously left out of the PoP equations?

I personally consider it an injustice... but then again I am probably the only schmuck alive who endured thru 1072 combines at 224 skill before I got 225.

I'm a 250 brewer and all I get asked for is that emerald leaves junk for smithing armor. Lame.

I also wish there were a few more "consumable drinks for us, maybe alone the lines of a "cheaper less encompassing" stat nature, say 5 to INT only, instead of 5 INT 5 WIS 10 Mana, etc...., and have one or 2 for each stat....

Yeah, that would be nice. Like a drink that adds 10 str but takes away 4 int.... perfect for monks, warriors, etc....

Basically, screw more alcohol, just give us more consumeable drinks.

          Bah,

I'd settle for Any brewed non stat drink that is better than Fizzlecutter 5000.

I mean, I should be able to make an enduring+ drink with a couple store bought ingredients...

I can make fish rolls cheaper than Iron rations cost, you'd think there would be a corralating drink.

I am a semi-Gm brewer (242 + geerlok) and do feel the shaft when it comes to drinks.

Then again, I don't know of any store bought food better than GLM.

Aye, I agree that there should be some lower form of normal drinks at least. Like the example above, where is our fishroll equivelant drink. Or some spankity new drink to in the range with everyone elses PoP stuff?

GM brewer here, and I still drink water. I could use Formula, but honestly I like to carry water anyway for impromptu smithing/brewing/whatever, so I'd rather just carry 3-4 stacks of water instead of 2 stacks of water and 1 of Formula. I can replace the water anywhere. Formula is only sold in Freeport and Bazaar.

I would love a simple brewed drink that lasts a long time that I can make easily when I am near a barrel.

Grobb Liquidised Meat = verry easy to produce. Takes about 20 mins to produce some stacks.

Well, GLM is easier to produce than some other brewed drinks but it is nowhere near as easy to brew as fish rolls are to bake (not to mention the fact that GLM has negative stats).

My suggetion for a long lasting drink would be soda water. It has the same number of ingredients as fish rolls, and roughly the same commonality of ingredients.

                    Also very expensive to produce.

Without many fails it is 1.5pp each roughly, so 30pp per stack.

You also need to get a Corking device, and without a pocket gnome you will be paying upwards of 2k for one of those... with a pocket gnome you will still be paying for a blue diamond, 50pp worth of gears, and need to forage a branch.

Did I mention you can't make a quick stack of them, because you have to buy ingredients for the 4 sub combines, do the sub combines, then make them.

I don't say that GLM is not a good stat food, and good to sell for a bit of profit... but as Quesci said, it is not a fish roll. You are comparing apples and oranges.

Lastly, in your post you say you can make a stack in 20 minutes, I'll accept that... though I've never made a stack because if I am going through all that trouble I make at least 240 (well 216-240 depending on fails), and that will take well over an hour at a good pace.

I can make a stack of fish rolls in 5 minutes including tracking down the ingredients.

Its possible that the new stuff in LoY will have something for Brewers. IE Dyes maybe? need to be brewed.

Just my two cents on the matter, as a non-brewer i'd love to see an inexpensive brewed drink with a small WIS, mana or HP boost. I just end up carrying Fuzzlecutters with me, which feels like a wasted slot, but keeping up with Qeynos Afternoon Teas gets expensive fast.

I totally agree, Brewers need more recipes please! Selling my tradeskill items I've often had people ask me if there was some non-stat but longer lasting drinks out there similar to Baked goods (fish rolls, etc..). Maybe something with cocoa/chocolate would be nice...

I think they should've gone and retroactively added more stats to drinks like they did with food. At the time though, stats on drinks weren't working so their priority shifted from adding stats to drinks to making the stats actually work.

Rootbeer, rootbeer floats, fizzlepop, and various juices should have some stats added to them. I also agree that they need to add more non-alcoholic brews. As it is, a good portion of the brews are alcoholic which most players don't bother with.. you can just get alcohol from a bar or Magician. Dyes, tempers and tannins can all be made without much skill. So basically they have like 3-5 brews that are even worth making.

Personally, I'd like to see Baking and Brewing some more. One idea I've always liked was to be able to make items that "summoned" food and drinks. For example, Brewers could make Jugs which have 2 charges of summoning a stack of various drinks, Kegs would summon 5, and barrels would summon 10.

They could also put together kits. An "Oggok Feast" would summon a stack of Triple Bile, 2 stacks of lizard on a stick, 5 skunk breath ales and an Ant's potion per charge and would cost approximately 20pp per charge to make (in addition to the brewing, baking and alchemy costs). An "Erudite Delcicy" would summon a stack of fizzy odus juice, a stack of Shellcracker's seaside salad, and an ultravision potion per charge.

I've seen a few discussions talking about LoY originally being part of PoP, then Sony changing their mind for whatever reason (most popular I've seen is greed, naturally). There is some evidence to back this up--Froglok illusion, PoP originally touted as having content for all levels but being mainly 46+ at the very least (except for portals, a few spells, and a handful of quests that can be done without going to the planes, there ain't much if you're not over 46).

So it is possible that our missing brews will be in LoY. But I'll be disappointed if they're not on a level with Hero Sandwiches, Justice Fruit Pies, etc.
