  • Spell Research broken

    http://eqforums.station.sony.com/eq/...essage.id=2893

I'll have to check my enc alt whom I've never skilled up on.

Apparently some patch ago a ton of characters had their spell research bumped up to 254, couple that with the oodles of runic parchments now in circulation due to the rollback {problem} and the net result is broken spell research.

Who else is now seeing an inordinate number of GoD spells showing up in the baz?

People don't ACTUALLY have 254 skill (well a few do)... the bug is that it APPEARS that they do in eqplayers when they don't.

I thought that was a the case.. until I logged in my "254" character. That's an actual screen shot from that very day of my "skills" tab.

Do you think that I am somehow unique?

" Well.. this is a rather shocking development. I log on my Mage (basically untouched for 2 years) and I find:

That she shows a skill of 254! My Guild's current Researcher has spent in excess of 1 million play reaching that point, so I guess I should start playing my Mage on Bristlebane again and make a killing selling spells.

I would have to say this is not a EQ Players problem at all. Still a huge bug.. but.. you are reporting what is there, yes. 1,000 pardons."

Bleh... still only 180 Research on my Bazaar Mule.

Guess I didn't "luck out" and get a boost.

I'm not seeing a flood on my server... I still pretty much control the market.

Have you tried actually combining anything? Possibly its a display bug?

                /sigh...

At least 3-4 researchers are producing lvl 65 spells on Maelin.

On Maelin, there are 2 players at 256+ skill, 5 players at 243-253 skill and 5 players at 231-242 skill. All of these are lvl 70 players. I'd say at least 7 to 12 players can steadily produce lvl 65 spells on this server.

Considering how common smudged runic parchments are if you are fighting where they drop, I'm suprised there aren't more of those spells on the market.
