Not a rant or primal scream, but I don't know where else to put this.

After I attacked an aggro greenie today with two Opal Encrusted Steins in my hands for about the millionth time (matched only by the number of times I have bought and sold at merchants without equipping them), it dawned on me that those two steins are the oldest items I have that I still use regularly on my warrior, now that the J-boots have been put away.

I still have deluxe sewing kits on some characters and I guess those are older, but my warrior hasn't used his in ages.

Now, my bazaar mule / one time druid about town / tailor - is still holding a crude stein and wearing two golden cat-eye bracelets. He finally ditched the cha earrings (whose name I no longer recall) for one opal stein some time ago. I suspect that the crude stein is far and away the oldest item I have that I still use regularly, and the bracelets are in second place.

More than that, I realize that cha items have been the one constant ever since I started playing. I used to have a set of 'cha gear' for all my regular characters, though those were eventually replaced by the opal steins on all but my mule.

When I finally make some Stormguard for my warrior and get a couple pieces with symbols on, I believe that will give me 115+ cha with my regular gear and the steins will leave the bottom two slots in my bottom backpack for the last time. In some ways it will be a sad day. The two steins on my warrior were bought for 750 pp each in front of the North Freeport bank a day or so after they were introduced in game. I think I was probably one of the first on my server to buy them and even though the price dropped like a rock a couple days later, I never felt ripped off.

Haven't needed resist gear in a long time - even the tradeskilling set has disappeared - but the 'cha set' lives on. Just wonder how many of you are in the same boat.

Not that I believe it will actually help me in the here and now but I do have several of the OoW +12 CHA augments with other effects added mainly so I dont have to have Opal Stiens which I will forget to equip or put away when I am done.

ohh, Halflings and Iksars. Definately using some charisma gear for both of them. I got a tradeskill trophy just for that reason.

I held onto a pair of opal encrusted steins on my main character for ages, and only got rid of them upon obtaining a commemerative wooden coin (+50 charisma) during EverQuest's sixth anniversary event. Later, as I obtained enough expert cultural armor pieces, I got rid of the coin as said pieces of armor had pushed up my charisma to the point where the coin was no longer needed to aid me in NPC vendor purchases.

Without a doubt, those steins were one of the best things I have ever bought for my character. They really made a difference when my character purchased things from NPC vendors, especially the big ticket items.

I ditched mine when my charisma in normal gear went over 150... that was a long time ago... now at 335 in normal gear so not exactly hurting.

Int caster gear tends to have a lot of it.

My Eye of Innoruuk (clicky Chill Sight from PoH) is the oldest thing I still carry around with me (its still a superior junk buff as its insta click, from inventory, is useless, and has no stacking issues with anything that isn't useless) though I haven't had to use it in a long time.

Oldest thing in my bank is my Crysknife... which I camped myself in Splitpaw (the original) sometime in the summer of 1999. It was crap to me then but I wanted it cause it was a cool name and I was always a Frank Herbert fan.
I used to take it along and pull it out during Burrower Parasite raids back in Luclin.

            oldest item

I still carry my crucible of escape. I don't know why...perhaps it's because it took me so long to get to be able to make it.

With Exodus available for a mana free evac and no cast time it really makes the crucible obsolete.

Still regularly using my Faithstone of Nature...

I have 2 Opal Stiens in my shared bank. I have level 1 characters in Neriak & Cablis solely for the purpose of buying Blessed Waters for making Master Augs. I transfer the Stiens around so I don't over-pay for 'em.

When they do the anniversary events, they give out a commerative coin, that has +50 CHA. There's also the festive doll, that has +15 to all stats. I use them now, instead of my steins.

Still have my wormy and Bag of Sewn Evil-Eye that was given to me by a Ranger in Surefall Glades who was quitting back in 2001 as well as my original firebeetle eye.

The steins got tossed when I got my GM Bakers Spoon because they weren't making a difference anymore, nor was the spoon.

It was just a habit I'd grown accustomed to, visit a merchant, equip steins...
I never even bothered to look at how much Cha I had untill I got the spoon, doh...

While most of my bags have been upgraded to halfing bags, my first bag slot still has my Bootstrutter's Framed Pack.
