And, what's this {stuff} SoE does with putting the *extras* in with the boxed version? {Heck}, I paid the same amount for the game if I download it than out of the box. STUPID! Someone please explain that little bit of illogic

It's the same explanation every expansion: in order to get stores like EBgames, BestBuy, etc to put the box on the shelf, SOE has to give an incentive for folks to buy the box retail, instead of downloading the expansion.

You have 3 choices:

1) Pre-order and download BEFORE the release date, and you will get a discounted price ($26.99 instead of $29.99) - war-horse NOT included

2) Buy the boxed version retail, either pre-ordered through stores' online sites or in person on or about Release day, pay $29.99, get the free war-horse

3) download after Release day, pay full price, war-horse still not included.

And local stores typically don't have them on shelves until 1-2 days after launch. When DoD launched I got one of the employees to dig a copy out of the warehouse for me.

Depends on the store. BestBuy is horrible, because their delivery day is on Thursday, but the expansions come out on Tuesday (or something like that) so they don't have them in stock for 2 days (though, I never did understand why SOE doesn't ship them the Thu before hand, so that they are on the shelves that day. Who cares if they get out early, you still can't play, because it's not live.)

I go to Babbages, which has them in the day it goes live.

Why not? This was the reason that LDoN sold. Hope they include more shared slots too, but since it was not mentioned...

Heck, the only reason not to purchase an expansion is if your leaving the game. As the ol' sayin' goes "In for a penny...". Just my out look on it.

Personally, I wish they would slow up a bit on releasing expansions. I'm still in Vel, finally got my Blessed Coldian Prayer Shawl a couple weeks ago

, and I have been playing for over 4 years. 'Tis what happens when the job keeps you away for 6-10 months at a time

And if they would ever fix the quests they botched up in Kunark with the change to FV, so I could be finished with that one...

It was LoY that originally added the extra 8 bank slots. Forget exactly when the shared slots were added, but pretty sure it was part of a normal patch, rather than part of an expansion.

I paid the same amount for downloading a copy as buying it in the store. It's disgraceful to exclude people from receiving the same product for the same price regardless of how that product is obtained. There is sooooo much content with EQ now that there is NO incentive for buying another expansion. Consider just how much content of the previous expansion(s) you have covered...really, think about it. Perhaps the next expansion could be a complete bug fix, face lift, and customer support. Now, THAT is what I would be very willing to pay $30 for!

My mistake....

So it has been awhile, but if I am not mistaken (was once already...) it was a selling point of the expansion and much like PoK was given to everyone who did not own it at a later date.

Then you're getting ripped off. They gave a crappy mount the last time. You think this one will be better? How about the shield or whatever crappy thing it was a couple expansions ago? Please, it's not worth it. Might as well download the expansion 10 times over 2 weeks like everyone else instead of 9 times. (IE: patches).

Maybe to you. To me it was. I use the pig all the time, and retired my drog. If the warhorse is better, I may retire the pig. I'll have to see on that one.
