You don't need to test sigs. Simply change the settings in your profile and check out one of your older posts. It will have changed, since your sig gets queried by the board everytime you look at a thread.

Sorry, just needed to emphasize that.

If you want to test your signature there is a "Preview" button next to the "submit" button that you can use to test what your signature looks like. Additionally, with the new boards, the moment you change your signature in your profile, all your posts on these boards display your changed sig, so it's REALLY unnecessary to make added posts just to check your sig.


Creating a test post wastes the time of the administrators, and frankly, we consider it rude.

These boards query your sig file every time? So that's totally different from EzBoards ... they seemed to essentially cut-n-paste your sig at the end of the message, and it was preserved even if you changed that sig later on. If this board simply attachs some sort of pointer to your sig ... hmm, interesting. I always found it kinda neat browsing old threads and seeing ancient versions of people's sigs. But I guess this would be more useful

As for search, WOOT! Global search would be so nice ... esp when dealing with things like a new expansion, where there are 3-5+ forums where the info is liable to be (using PoP example, Data, Discussion, specific skill, general, random comment elsewhere). I always assumed ezBoards avoided that feature due to the large amount of processor time it would take. Hopefully that doesn't become a problem for you all.
