Salvage... bug?

Hey there,

Sorry if this is the stereotypical "OMG BUG" rant, but I got pissed doing the halloween quest last night...

I was trying to make pumpkin bread, which trivials at slightly above my baking skill, and I failed a couple times. Salvage fires, I salvage the pumpkin flesh (thank god...), but... my bread tin got destroyed. I thought that you were supposed to get the bread tin back regardless of success or failure, I got it back on all my successes. Is that just a bug with this one recipe, or should I expect to lose the item you're not supposed to lose every time I succesfully salvage ANYTHING from a recipe? I had to remake that bloody bread tin 4 times last night because of this...

They probably just forgot to make the tin return on failure for that particular recipe. I doubt it had anything to do with salvage. Did you /bug it?

Yeah, I /bug'd it. I'm pretty sure that I had earlier made the combine, failed, and gotten the tin back when salvage didn't fire on anything, but I may be imagining things. I doubt they'll fix this, since it's just for the halloween event. Does anybody know if similar things like this happen on other recipes or ts's?

All bow combines used to eat the planing tool or whittling blade on every combine.

They eventually changed that... after about lesse 4 years ago? 5?

I wouldn't hold my breath on this one.

been a LONG while since i made bread, but there used to be a thing where it would randomly eat the bread tin on a fail, saying it got "burned up" or something. didn't happen every time, though.

it has been a few years so i might not be remembering correctly. i've been wrong before!

Yeah. Those recipies were NOT made by me, and were in before I got a chance to review them. I have tried to educate the person who put them in

Unfortunately, there will not be an item patch until the next patch (scheduled for the 16th) to get my bug fixes on them in.
