Just thought I would add a note about the Cultural books.

I found that the 1st 5 Books (Culutral, Journeyman, Expert, Master and GM) could be re-onained wothout doing the entire task again. just do the last turn in again for a new book.

However -- for the nw DoD Seals book -- this is not the case. You have to do the task again (Loot and then turn in the Geode).

Personal tribute benefits I can explain, sorta - seems that after doing a monster mission (orc or fairy mission in Nektulos only ones I have done), your personal Tribute settings are wiped. Points remain, but the selections have to be re-done in home city. Just another bump to be ironed out from the post-expansion blues

Actually, I can see why they wipe tribute. It's actually quite simple when you think about it.

If you do the orc mission in nek... that extra 150hps 50ish ac from two tributes would make an insane difference on the already easy difficulty. And it's been that all MMs wipe tribute, not just nek.

In that case, it would make sense to turn off tribute (and not allow you to turn it back on during the mission). Wiping the settings is just irritating, though.

I lost my GM mission while doing the naggy monster mission in Lavastorm. Had completed the 120 collect and only needed the silly stone necklace from stillmoon to finish it completely. I petitioned and never got an answer.

Argh!!!!
Just looked at my tasks....and my GM level aug task is GONE! I had done half of the kills (60/120) and looted 58/80 drake claws. I've petitioned, but a guildy of mine said hers disappeared as well and she never got an answer on her petition.
GRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

anyone else have this happen?

Had just completed the Griffon Eggs monster mission in West Commonlands. I cleared the completed Griffon Eggs monster mission and simultaneously, the Grandmaster DoN cultural armor quest (http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/q...tml?quest=3043 ... Recently reduced to minimum required level 68) disappeared from my Task List. I petitioned that night, got a response next day, basically said Sorry, can't help.

Gah! Lost 117 of 120 kills and 23 of 80 loots out of the deal.

Because I had to add my tribute abilities again anyway, I just stopped by and started the DoN GM TS quest again.

Was in lavastorm mountains when I noticed my wood elf GM pattern quest had been wiped, at 120 drake kills, and 79 of the 80 fractured drake claws...

started the gm quest got all the tasks at the same time was
90% done with the chardok parts
75% of the DoN instance parts

I had not bothered to even really do the lower end parts until i got close to finishing the 2 harders ones.
Likewise after I saw that I had lost them i just restarted them via the NPC for the quest and tried talking to a guide that was on who told me "sorry but lost tasks are unrepairable and you have to start again" taking this as fact i just restarted but hac 0% done in all of them now. I noticed it missing shortly after DoD release when i kept losing monster missions due to instanced zone crashes. I had also petitioned lost progress on regular missions and got a similar reply from the cs team. After that i figured why bother. Petitions may of came from Kagrobb or Kagrubb on Fennin Ro both are me but my shaman is the multi tradeskiller.

Just finished my DE gm aug book quest (first part, the arachnid eye clusters), and went to turn in the 4 eye clusters to move on to the second set of thing sto do. Quest npc refused to take the eye clusters. I've collected all i needed, and killed all i needed (lines turned green).

Can't petition, as i have an open petition trying to get bag 250 crystals that the evil crystal merchant took over what the item cost. Gm basically did nothign with my petition other than tell me to put in a bug report... but that's another story of broken content.

Yesterday, my gm cultural symbol quest disappeared too. This may just be coincidence, but I had also collected exactly 58 items towards it just as the OP here did, though my items were arachnid eye clusters rather than drake claws. I had fully completed the 120 kills portion. The name of this task was "A bit of spider, a bit of drake" and it was given to my character, Lanimelle, by Elistar Vorann in North Felwithe.

I petitioned immediately and overnight last night received the standard "sorry I cannot help you" response. I repetitioned and also bug reported this.

I've been working on this task for many, many months now since it is so hard to get anyone to do missions in Lavaspinner's Lair. Can anyone else who had this happen to them report any progress in getting help?

Oh I've got it all beat, and I think Wyvernwill was around to hear the scream across the continent LOL.

I had the 120 drakes killed and the 80 fracs looted. I was on my way to Kelethin to get the next step and while removing myself from the creator task that had just finished I lost my GM task as well. I petitioned, got a response that there is nothing they could do and had to do it all over again. So 240 drakes killed nad 160 fracture drake claws later I finally got the stupid GM book

I can feel everyones pain! I raced through all of the lower level tasks and paused a bit when I saw what the GM task entailed. wow! 120 Stillmoon creature kills, and loot 80 fractured drake claws. This will take some time! Boy would it! My first stab at the GM task had all 120 kills completed and somewhere along the lines of 60 claws looted. The night I noticed it poof I was doing some Don progression raids with my guild. Was late and I am not certain what happened, just that it suddenly stopped showing my GM task. Yeah yeah yeah, who reads the disclaimer statement everytime you do something. Seen it everytime I try to finish off creator mission. <side note> Why must we "remove" ourselves from these tasks anyway?? Should they not remove us automaticlly when we complete said task?? Anyway, I cried and /petition. Next day get the sorry cant help you bud message from SOE. <grumble> Go back to Rivervale and get GM task for a second time. Mind you it had taken me the better part of a month to get those drake claws as far as I did.

GM task, take two. Again, 120 kills completed, this time I can see the finish line, 9 claws left to loot. Doing several creator missions with guildies. The next day there was a patch, I log in and that evening I notice GM task is gone again!!! GDI!!! /petition again, knowing what response would be, and getting that response the next day. >< After the first time, I was super careful about that remove from task button. Dunno what happened for sure, I could have hit remove on wrong task again somehow. Dont recall hitting it twice though. Regardless, am working on third time thru. I played EQ2 for about 3 months on release before coming back and as they continue to turn EQ into EQ2 I wish they would implement that non-deleteable task like some of them were in EQ2.

Maybe 3rd time will be the charm, better be!! lol

I just had the same happen to me... had about 12 stillmoon kills left, 25 glossy kirin manes left, and was doing monster missions in HHK. I removed myself from the previous MM in preparation to do another one when the reset timer ran out and then when the task window came up for the new one my GM quest was GONE!!! I sent in a /petition and got the usual response of "We can't restore quests". Guess I start over...

Considering that I have only got 1-2 manes to drop per DoN instance, and then only when the level spread is right (they don't seem to drop if the average is too low or too high), and the fact that most people in Creators don't want to spend the extra time to kill the goats if they don't have to (they want to pull as few mobs as possible) it's gonna be a long haul... it took me 3 months to get as far as I did and I wasn't even halfway done.

AUUUGHH!
